(Anonymous) 2014-01-26 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)same thing happened with lj. lj got too popular/mainstream and after a certain point the fandom porny fun caught the attention of some group, i forget the name, and suddenly there were deletions and banning for chan material (i think this word has fallen out of use, but it used to be a term for fic with adult/minor romance or sex).
lj did eventually rescind their decision and allow (as long as it was fictional, obviously) this stuff again. but fandom was already divided and it never really was like the good old days again.
i was pleased to see lj decline shortly afterward - i doubt it was purely because of that, mind you, but still.
i'm less attached to tumblr than i was to the old lj community. 'tumblr culture' does grate at me to begin with. so this is less upsetting, in some ways, but on the other side of it, i am concerned about whether hetalia fandom would survive a fracture like that. back on lj, i was in hp fandom and it was such a huge fandom at the time it wasn't hurt at all by the split. hetalia, on the other hand, is past its heyday.
but that's a concern for later, when and if bnf fans start running into deletions too.
best scenario is if this was only the result of like one person who holds a grudge against me for some reason and repeatedly reported, and usually tumblr doesn't care about this. i doubt it, but still.
