ngl, i kind of think tumblr took the reaction to rape jokes too far.

like. i'm not saying rape jokes are good. they are tasteless and yeah, offensive. but so are many other types of jokes.

and i am offended by some of them (though to me, there is for example a difference between someone saying it like implying they'd like to rape somebody, versus saying like 'final exams totally raped my ass'. both are crass, but the former is much creepier).

however, tumblr's way of reacting is very… sometimes i'm more concerned at some of the reactions i've seen where they behave as though the person who made a creepy or tasteless joke /is an actual sex predator/.

i don't appreciate all the humor out there, and there are lots of shows i don't watch and people i refuse to hang out with because of their offensive sense of humor. but at the same time, i don't equate someone making a holocaust joke with literally being a nazi.
