A lot of times, I look at a story and think it's a pretty good idea/premise, but it's totally ruined by the author trying to tell it with these particular characters. Why do people force characters into a plot/actions/reactions that don't work for them?

Let's talk museums, meme! Ones you want to go to, cool ones you've been to, not so good ones you've been to, weird stories, whatever!

Are you equally interested in all historical periods of your favorite characters? Or do you focus on some and totally ignore others? What about character interaction? Do you enjoy the relationship they have with character X in canon but don't care that much about their interactions with Y?
