France would be a "cool" dad who would probably break your heart multiple times because he'd forget to come to your play because he was too busy wining and dining someone, but then he'd take you on some crazy adventure in the countryside to make up for it. (And so on with the cycle)

Taking the loose definition, in the "dude who raised you" sense-

Iceland is never going to not find Norway and Denmark embarrassing. And he isn't sure which is worse. They're both horrible in their own ways.

And they were failtastic when it came to bringing up their little brother, too.

Norway had this habit of picking up little pieces of territory and then getting distracted by the next shiny thing - or by the next hint of land on the horizon, I guess you could say.

And Denmark was just kind of neglectful and absent-minded all around. Attention span of a gnat, that one.

No wonder their little brother has issues. (Faeroes etc probably didn't fare much better.)

Both at the same time! They want him to be mature, but they also want him to be their adorable little brother! (Guys, sorry to say, but you can't have both. Well, not necessarily....)

If Iceland seemed to be taller than Norway, then Norway would insist that he take off his shoes so that they can re-measure. And then insist again that he take off his socks, too, so they can re-measure. And then insist that they get someone more competent to do the measuring, because Denmark isn't cutting it. And then insist that they get someone who has perfect eyesight to do the measuring, because clearly Sweden is misreading it. And then insist that they get someone unbiased to do the measuring, because Finland must have something up his sleeve.

Eventually you're going to have to deal with the fact that your little bro ain't so little any more, Norway.

germany seems like a strict dad in public but he's actually very doting and even sometimes lenient. he's got his kids in line but he's still good with them. until they hit puberty. at which point he kind of flounders.

makes a fantastic babysitter too.

You know, looking back I think Hetalia is actually responsible for getting me into daddy kink. I'd previously been into incest but not so much when the parents are involved, but then along came Hetalia with USUK and TurkGre and Spamano and all these guardian/ward pairings that gradually grew my appetite for daddy issues and daddy complexes and daddy baggage.

Also I love England the long-suffering frazzled dad overrun with energetic kids. Though I also have a thing for England the bad dad, out of touch and overbearing and preoccupied with the business of empire-building...

And now I kind of want a PrUK human au where they meet in a park and do the usual "which one's yours" smalltalk thing and of course Gilbert's is the solemn little angel studiously working a new car design in the sandbox while Arthur's little hell-raisers are pulling some dumb stunt on the monkey bars that can only end in tears at best and stitches at worst. And. I dunno, I'm half-asleep and have no idea where I'm going with this but I figure sex alleviates stress so surely dad-stress warrants some dad-sex with fellow single dad. Or something.
