A few weeks ago I was waiting to check out and there was a woman there who was trying to check out a book but she had a LOT of overdue books on her account. So, the librarian was going down the list to see if she had any of them or if she would have to pay the replacement fees. She had lost all of them but I wonder if they ever got the fees out of her, because she had checked out a lot of specialty, university press books that were like $40, 50, 60+ to replace

The saddest part is that the library will probably not be able to replace them, unless they have a lot of funding.
