part 352 may flowers and showers
Hey meme... it's gonna be May! Which means it's spring for many people! Or, it should be, if the weather would decide to cooperate. I've been wanting to plant my jalapenos outside but it keeps getting randomly cold... I just want spicy peppers, weather! I mean come on.
Anyway. At least it's not snowing. Or eternally Halloween. If you know what I mean.
Enjoy part 352!

Re: ITT: Tabs you have open
Fests/exchanges used to freak me out, but then I decided to put this one together. I find that since it's low-commitment it takes the pressure off a little? But then again everyone's different. (And I guess exchanges still make me nervous, a little.)
Books can be great too, I've had lots of luck with them. But... depending on the subject/what you have access to, sometimes they aren't so helpful. For example none of my books cover the subject I'm writing about right now so I've had to resort to googletranslating from Czech wikipedia and just. orz

(Anonymous) 2014-05-07 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)I won't lie, I'm happy that the prompts don't insist on the given time period. I tried my hand at Kalmar-era and noped out of that. Far too much research for me :/ so it'll be Viking era instead. It helps that I've read a bunch of Bernard Cornwell's Viking-era stuff, which is useful for worldbuilding additions and a good realistic feel.
Re: ITT: Tabs you have open
Yeah, making the period mandatory is something that will definitely never be included. It'd be too challenging - lots of people don't want to do that level of research, and so many prompts can be applied to more than one era anyway. The suggestions seems like a good way to go. (And it was requested, so...)
I don't blame you for noping out of Kalmar. That period gives me a headache; there's so many basic things about it that I just don't have the basic level of understanding for yet.
