We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

Of course since Prussia is inseparable from Japan I find it hard to believe they wouldn't know what Pokemon is, especially the first 150.

Some brainstorming. Some are because I like the colours, because I think the pokémon's personality/attacks etc. match that character and so on.

I'm having so much trouble choosing anything for Italy and Romano. Ugh.

England - Snubbull (Grumpy fairy type for a grumpy fairy-seeing nation) or Rapidash (because unicorn)
France - Gardevoir or Milotic (I think France would want an ~elegant~ Pokemon)
Russia - Sunflora
China - Mienshao
Germany - Houndoom
Italy - Spinda (I like the thought of Italy cooking in the kitchen and a derpy Spinda waddling around grabbing ingredients for him)
Japan - Pikachu
Iceland - Eevee (This might just be because I associate him with Chi, but I also like the thought of him having an Eevee because it's a babu Pokemon with a bunch of different evolutions and he's a babu nation with a bunch of big brothers /eyes.gif)
Norway - Meowstic
Denmark - Growlithe (or something else cute with high energy)
Sweden - Ursaring or Beartic

No, they're not otaku or anything. In fact if Japan tried even showing them pictures they'd probably only know the German names and it would get frustrating pretty quickly.

Weirdly enough that's how my first study abroad in Japan went when I was 15, my classmates tried to bond with me over pokemon but it kind of failed epically because I only knew their English names and they only knew their Japanese names so we couldn't talk about them.
