psssst I know I'm super late but I took these photos during my lunch break walk on Sunday and I wanna share! ;o;
Sundays I work at a native american history museum in a park nearby these lovely birch stands link!

It's a very marshy area, so there's a raised wooden path that winds through the trees. Good thing, too, there had been a lot of rain a few nights before and there was a ton of runoff from the mountains. link!
Big fat frog was appreciating the rise in water level froglink!
Birch bark is crazy strong, the tree inside might be long dead and rotting but the bark does not care a whit. link!
They look like gentle rolling ghibli hills but they're really all puddly swamps! link!
And lastly, the reason why it's so good that birch bark lasts so long. This is a reproduction Wabanaki wigwam dwelling that the museum built out of branches and birch bark sheets. We have only had to touch it up once in several years! link!
