A little advice.

Now, given I'm not as well versed with cats as Heracles... but I do know a thing or two about owning a cat. My mother did adore them, and not a lot has changed since then.

Some basic advice:
-Adopt based on your lifestyle. The breed and temperament of the cat will affect how they adapt to your home and work routines. So be definite in your choice.

-When you bring the kitten into your house, be patient. Keep it in a isolated part of the house for up to a week and a half, depending on how the kitten adjusts. This gives them adjust to the sounds, smells and just the feel of the house in general. Ideally, this should be where you keep it's litter box, food and water bowls, and where it will sleep.

-Know that it will take some time. Not all kittens will want to play all the time, and especially not in their first weeks. It takes time to build a bond. This will be helped if you're the one to feed them.

-And remember. Kittens become cats. They can't be cute and tiny forever. But they're still full of love, and comfort. A pet is for life.

Good luck, Anon.
