We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

Then what exactly is your point? I'm sick to death of that I can't bring up anything positive about Germany with this friend without her linking me to something bad that is going on over there and giving me anecdotes about all the times Germans have done something shitty.

I've tried to, but she always brushes it under the carpet and gives me some explanation about why it's not so bad or why it's justified. It's like she's got a total blind spot when it comes to Italy. One moment, she's laughing at jokes that make fun of other countries' military failures, but as soon as someone says a similar joke about Italy, she'll start ranting how it's offensive.

In that case, she sounds like a nationalist or super, really biased. It's fine to point out racism against your country but if you're going to downplay your own country's then you're a hypocrite.
