We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

[He smiles at her though he looks a bit embarrassed by the compliment.]

Well I don't know if you could say I am quite as charming as America, but I'd like to think I do a good job of representing his citizenry.

[ She smiles at him sweetly as his coffee comes. How could he possibly not think this. ]

Oh no. The both of you are charming. I find it quite sweet.

[He thanks the person who brought the coffee before raising it in a slight toast to Belgium. He takes a sip, making an appreciative face.]

Well, thank you. I never though I'd be called sweet though.

Really? I can't imagine why not. True gentlemen tent to have that going for them.

[He smiles, enjoying the compliment, even if it makes his cheeks a bit rosy.]

I haven't had many opportunities to show how much of a gentleman I can be but I wouldn't mind demonstrating my capabilities to a lovely lady such as yourself, if given the chance. Besides now of course.

[He was called charming, he can't help but act on it a bit to prove that he really is a dashing man.]

[ Oh, she was totally just joking around. She didn't think he was being serious. Suddenly she's blushing a little herself, blinking at him. ]

[He slightly regrets asking. Clearly she wasn't expecting this and he was going with the flow of the flirtation. Or he thought he was.]

Yes? But we can go as friends if you like.

[He looks away for a moment, down at his feet and then to his left before looking back up at her.]

I could ask America to come with us if you want...I've mostly been on double dates...

[ Oh oh, wrong reaction!! Gotta save this one Bel. When is CAPTAIN AMERICA ever gonna ask you on a date again?! ]

Ah, no no... I-I'd love to. Really.

[ Smiles sweetly, cheeks still pink. ]

I just never assumed you thought of me that way, is all.

[He blinks in surprise. He had been expected to be turned down.]

Really? Thank you.

[He smiles back, rubbing the back of his neck.]

I'm full of surprises I guess.

[She also made him the best waffles he's ever had. Plus she's pretty and smart.]

[ She's blushing pink and he's rubbing his neck bashfully. They must be a sight. She keeps her smile though, laughing softly at the misinterpretation. ]

Haha, I have no doubt that you're a surprising man. But yes. I really would love to.

[He smiles wider, feeling a bit more relaxed and less self-conscious as the moment of misinterpretation passes.]

That's great. Is there any particular day that works best for you?

Oh, any day really. Maybe this coming weekend perhaps? I know the world cup is exciting and distracting but I think I can pull myself away for one night.

This weekend it is. How about Saturday night? We can go to a sports bar if you like so we can watch the matches together.

[ She can't fight back her grin at the offer, blushing softly as she nods. ]

Yes, that sounds like fun.

[Her blush just makes him smile more.]
