part 353 whalers on the moon

We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

Enjoy part 353!

I missed the thing itself, like I said I'm trying to not look, but the Italian commentators make it sound like a legit in-game foul - but then again they are Italian commentators, Prandelli and co. could be sacrificing a virgin to Satan in the midfield and the Italian commentators would still be talking about how they're actual giants of soccer.

And it's not like Balotelli is new to this kind of stuff. I remember there was talk of not taking him to the Euros because of a very bad foul (not even a foul, actually, a random act of aggression) he committed when he was still playing in England.

Jesus. That kid needs anger management. It's only a matter of time before he breaks somebody's leg and ends a career.

It is really shameful how much bullshit a good player is allowed to get away with in Italy. Not just Balotelli, but also Buffon got away with his involvement in a huge betting scandal, and of course there's Cassano's homophobic comments, and a lot of them get away with para-fascist attitude etc.

I know it's a bit like that in other European countries, too (Zidane, just to make a random example) but I'm reasonably sure nobody got it as bad as us. I love this game, but sometimes I wish Italy sucked at it.
