part 353 whalers on the moon
We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.
Enjoy part 353!

Re: ooc
Though actually that makes it all the harder to come up with 'anything' since I've got so many ideas. Do you have any particular things you're interested in?
Otherwise I can regal you with the sad realization I had at Sanssouci about how Julchen's first time setting foot in it was probably the night Fritz died. Also I learned that Fritz's favorite color was light mauve lmao.

And I always knew that but I figured, you know, she's gotta do nation business somewhere surely she'd have been inside once or twice or something. But nope, apparently there were never any political guests of any kind, and even when Fritz was old and frail he would take the time to leave Sanssouci in the morning and do his monarch things at Potsdamn City Palace then go back at night.
So I just thought of Prussia chilling in Potsdamn and watching her Old Man boss come in in the mornings and do boring paperwork and stuff with her then shuffle home at night and be SO CLOSE TO HER but just slowly wasting away to where she can't go. Until one summer evening she's woken up at 2am because of the King's death and like, how horrible and weird it must be to have your first experience of a place that your favorite boss talked about like it was his child, be rushing in to see his dead body in his living room. Just. Shit. Poor baby. And I bet the tours around the place are surreal to her because of course they talk endlessly about Fritz's habits and lifestyle there and it's the one place in her (at her?) where she doesn't legitimately know any of the information they tell the tourists. And, yeah.
The train between Potsdam and Berlin was a long one, I had a lot of time to drown myself in Romanticism lmao.
