part 353 whalers on the moon

We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

Enjoy part 353!

[Doesn't realise that he mentioned a sensitive subject
(but nation childhoods are neither far from normal nor usually all that great as well).]

That is nice, a double-birthday sounds cu- ...like fun.

[He almost wants to suggest something involving only you and a ribbon as a perfect gift for America,
but thankfully he keeps it to himself.]

Uh, yes, it is not like a human birthday... it changes with time and is often simply the national day or a day with historic significance.
We are lucky if we know the actual year or even decade in which we were originally born...
depending on the century the records are often not very reliable. [shrugs]

Is that so... well, I guess since you already got your own nation
and my sister and whoever else in your personal fan club, any more are not needed, right?

[His tone is mostly half-joking.]

It is not like that, well not a real danger, just... [Blushes a little, how should he word this?]

I guess it only matters if you would get easily uncomfortable when someone is a bit too... kind of touchy-feely?

[Nothing like a friendly butt-grope as a welcome.]

I am sure everyone would love to show you around their houses,
since a lot has changed and improved in all those years. [smiles]
And especially the museums and historic buildings are worth travelling around Europe,
well, whenever you find the time, of course.

[Hero problems... and sadly none of them can help in this case.]

I am sure he shares his birthday with a lot of his citizens. In general, it's a great holiday.

[He nods.]

That makes sense. Plus regimes rise and fall every day, changing the countries and names of borders all the time.

[He's not going to continue the conversation on fan clubs. He wants to be treated like a normal person but he's fully aware he stopped being normal a long, long time ago.]

France is too touchy-feely? I guess I wouldn't be overly comfortable but that's a typical greeting in some countries isn't it? Hugs and kisses on cheeks?

[He smiles back.]

I hope so. Do you have any noteworthy museums or buildings you'd recommend for me to visit if I ever get over to your part of the world again?

[It's alright. He has a team of friends with super abilities who can help him deal with saving the world/universe/AWOL friends.]
lux_n_burg: (dot-dot-dot)

Sorry about that, I only noticed it now. (;3;)/

[ooc: I think I messed up with sending my post or captcha I don't know,
but to give this thread a better end...]

Oh, I know, he loves to invite others a lot to celebrate with him.
But, who does not like celebrations and fireworks.

[nods] That is true, although in the past that happened even more frequently...
[sighs] I certainly do not miss having to move around so much.

[Drops that topic then as well as the other one... for now.]

Um... [He’s sure butt groping is not a typical greeting in his corner of Europe at least.]
well, not quite but...
[Shakes his head and smiles instead of further attempting to explain] Ah never mind,
I am sure everything will be fine then.

[Maybe some payback for flirting with his sister?]

That is a bit difficult, everyone has their interesting sights to visit,
usually you can find something interesting near or in the respective capitals.
Also it depends on what you prefer, historical sights, modern art or history museums and so on.
Just to name a few museums for example... like my sister has the Royal Museums of Fine Arts
and my brother the famous Rijksmuseum among many others.
And I as well have plenty of museums and people love to visit the old parts of my capital - kind of my birthplace
-
and the casemates beneath, there is also an art gallery nearby.

[Normally he would have recommended the American memorial as well, but in this case he isn’t so sure.]

I am sure you will find a lot to visit whenever you get the chance to travel there.

[Certainly a more exiting life than that of "hetare" nations arguing at meetings for example.]

It's perfectly fine!!

[ooc: Hurray for good endings though!]

[He takes out his notebook to write down the names of the places Luxembourg is mentioning, so he can see them on a future visit.]

To be honest, these all sound like great places to go. I like art, and learning about a country's past can help you understand its people and its present. I'll be sure to visit these places. Maybe I'll run into there, if you're not busy here.

[Looks a bit surprised.] O-oh, if you actually manage to visit,
I will make sure to get some time off work to show you around!

[Right, arranging work and spontaneously acting as a tour guide might still be difficult.]

Um, but some notification before would help. [smiles]

Really? You don't have to - I have a feeling you nations lead very busy lives, I don't want to take you away from any business you need to conduct. But I would appreciate it if you could show me around.

[He gives him a soft grin.]

Of course. I'll be sure to give you a call if I plan to be in the area. Just as a heads up - sometimes trouble likes to find me.
