We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

[Once he gets to know her better, she can expect a lot of old fashioned habits from him. Of course he knows the way and they arrive soon enough. He holds the door open for her.]

[ Smiles and steps right on in, giving him a glance as she brushes her hair behind her ear, making sure to catch his eye. ]

Thank you, sir.

[He flushes a bit but returns the smile.]

You're welcome.

[He steps in behind her.]

They have their menu posted above the counter. I really like the one with everything on it. But the margarita one is good too.

[ She looks up as directed, glancing over the menu at all they offer. ]

You like everything, huh?

[ The margarita sounds good but-- ]

Well, it's New York style, right? I'll have what you think is the most authentic way to have a slice.

[americascaptain]

Well they come by the slice. I guess a plain slice is best - you can judge how good a place is by the quality of their sauce and how their dough tastes. If you like it, you can try the pepperoni, if you're still hungry.

[He likes this place a lot so whenever he is in the area, he orders several pies to go. He also appreciates how they don't make a big deal out of who he is.

I see I see. Well if that's the way you have a real slice of New York style pizza then I'll go that route.

[ She gives him a smile and makes her order before she steps aside so he can order. ]

[americascaptain]

[He places his order right after hers, paying for them both before showing her where they wait for their orders to come out.]

We get to choose our own table if we dine in but you can eat pizza while walking along the streets if you want. The Brooklyn Bridge Park isn't too far away if you want to take in a view of the East River.

[bellabelgium]

[ Pizza by the river. That sounds as authentic as it gets. She smiles up at him, reaching over to straighten out a button on his shirt absently. ]

That sounds wonderful. I'd love to.

[americascaptain]

[He smiles, ears turning pink, when she touches him.]

Alright. I'll let them know it's to go.

[He also orders some drinks to go - a couple of bottles of cream soda. Their orders come up not too long after. He brings everything over to Belgium, pizza slices expertly folded in half in one hand, the other carrying the soda bottles.]

Pizza is ready.

[He hands Belgium her slice and holds out one of the bottles.]

Let's head for the park?

[bellabelgium]

[ She takes everything handed to her, doing her best to try and expertly fold her slice over like he's does. ]

Ah yes, of course-- but is this how I'm supposed to hold it?

//sorry, mun has been sick for the past few days

[americascaptain]

[He smiles at her and gives a quick nod.]

Exactly like that.

[He shoulders the door open to let them out, holding it open with his foot so she can pass through it unhindered.]

You are absolutely fine!!

[bellabelgium]

[ SUCH a gentleman. It's something she truly does appreciate. You don't see that so much these days. ]

Thank you.

[ She walks through, holding onto her pizza securely as she waits for him. ]

Which way is the park?

[He'd call it having good manners. He wasn't raised in a barn!]

You're welcome.

[He lets the door swing shut after checking to make sure no one else is on their way out of the pizzeria. He uses his elbow to gesture to the left.]

This way to the park. They should have picnic tables not too far from the riverside.

[ They are very good manners. A lot of people don't have them anymore. ]

You lead the way sir.

[ She follows after him, heading off to the left. ]

This pizza smells fantastic. I've never had-- [ looks at the label ] ...cream soda, though.
