part 353 whalers on the moon

We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

I was thinking about it the other day and I'm annoyed today too!

About how the "female" Epic Rap Battles of History are basically gendered insults about being sluts or (????) have miscarriages, while the rap battles for the male figures & characters are related to stuff they did?

like "REVOLUTIONARY WAR! BATTLES!! HISTORY!" for George Washington vs William Wallance
but "suck my clit, you had miscarriages you skank~" for Marilyn Monroe vs Cleopatra

If it's Epic Rap Battles of History, it's probably best not to expect quality out of it in the first place. Seems par for the course, sadly.

Found out that the asshole who's been trolling DenSu writers for two years is still lurking around my blog. And finding other people to troll via my rec posts.

I'm actually pretty mad about this - more the part about them trolling other people; I've turned off anon, so they can't send me messages any more - but I'm not sure there's anything I can do about it aside from reporting their comments for deletion when I see them leaving nasty messages on the kink meme.

jesus, how do they manage to stay on the wonky warpath for this long for this pointless of a cause. you'd think they'd give it a rest already since for heaven's sake nobody in the world is going to go OH SHIT IF RUDE, ENTITLED INTERNET STRANGER WANTS ME TO SWITCH PAIRINGS - OF COURSE I WILL!

Yep, that same one.

It's possible that they're a genuine troll who's just trying to piss people off, but their comments sound so earnest, and sound exactly like almost all of the stupid shipwar arguments I've seen through all of my years in fandom, that I'm pretty sure they're the real deal.

Though they keep going through all of my DenSu related tags and fic, so maybe they've developed a Thing for it, because I honestly can't see why anybody would waste so much time on something they dislike. If that's the case, I wish they'd stop being so damn tsundere about the pairing, goddamn.

My district library participates in a statewide lending program, which is awesome because I can get pretty out of print, expensive and unusual books that aren't at my local/nearby libraries.

Buuuuuuut

During the summer, the university libraries will reject all lending requests because the staff doesn't want to do the extra work. Which is understandable, but, the non-university libraries don't do this so it's one-sided.

I just want to read this book of Broadway costume design
