part 353 whalers on the moon

We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

Enjoy part 353!

"I'M BEGGING YOU CONVINCE PEOPLE WHO HAVE POSTED A DELETED ART TO DELETE IT RIGHT NOW"

Yeah because a deleted artist with deleted art from 2001 is going to feel violated

Right?

Fuck that noise, without people posting deleted art from years ago before I got into the fandom, I would have missed seeing some of the most beautiful pieces.

They're really acting like people who post a SOURCED art without asking for permission from a long-dead artist is like violating consent.

tumblrs attitude towards fanart continues to boggle my mind

like especially for Hetalia and older fandoms a good chunk of art thats floating around now is from deleted sources. so there should just not be a fandom for these series anymore, in order to protect the feelings of fanartists... of those fandoms? in what kind of fucking bizzaro world does this make sense?

So dramatic.

I didn't even bother reading that whole thing

what I was interested in was how the hell they got those links to specific parts of the page to work. I didn't even know you could do that on Tumblr.

ON THE CONTRARY

I've been tempted to start up a blog for (or at least somehow feature) deleted art.
Because the only place you're going to find it now is floating about in the ether.
It's like out-of-print books, vintage jewelry, I don't know, it's rare, and the new kids aren't going to see it unless we show them.
