definition of 'strange' may depend on context

i just got a really oddly specific personal question out of the blue (which i'm omitting because it's so oddly specific i feel like it'd be recognized if i were to quote it).

which would not be strange at all were this a personal blog, but this is a pretty straight up image only blog. it's essentially an archive for fanart i liked. i never speak about myself on this blog. it is not connected to any other blogs on which i do speak about myself.

i'm actually thinking maybe this person had the wrong browser open and intended this question for someone else. or, they're trying to figure out if i'm someone they know?

I once got an anonymous ask that said "Both my hearts skipped a beat when you walked into the room. Just sayin, pretty lady."
Which was more unfortunate than strange (I do like Doctor Who), because this person turned out to be a friend of mine who was trying to tell me they had a crush on me, but I couldn't reciprocate those feelings. But we're still friends. I'd kind of forgotten about this.

Just a bunch of bots saying something along the lines of "hey! we knew each other in highschool, but you'll have to guess who I am by clicking on this website!"

ngl at first I got scared and my first thought was "oh no, my highschool ex-classmates found my tumblr!!!! D:" before I read the message a couple more times and realized it was a bot.

A couple years ago, I got the longest multiple-message rant from the infamous DenSu hating troll. I kind of wish I'd kept it. At the time, I didn't know that this was a notorious troll and I just assumed it was some spammer trying to get attention, and deleted after skimming. But I vaguely remember it was comedy gold. So much anger, so little consideration for grammar.

I kind of wish you'd kept it too, haha. I mean, I'm very familiar with their flailing by now, but if you're the one who mentioned it previously, then your message had a kink-shame angle that they usually don't include.

(The weirdass grammar, to be fair, can be attributed to English being their second language. But even with that, they're... very incoherent.)

Not sure if I'm that anon, but their message was partially pissed because I'd reblogged some violent and dub-con/non-con DenSu stuff and it was all boohoo it's such a mean bad old pairing how dare youuuuu

Ironically, I didn't even ship DenSu. I was only interested in buff guys with some blood, chains, and coercion themes. I was mildly confused because from a kinkshaming angle, the DenSu was honestly some of the milder end of kink stuff on my blog. So I guess they must've been going through the DenSu tag for their preaching mission. What dedication!

Ah, yeah, that's what I was thinking of.

They certainly are... dedicated. Considering they've been at it for years. And keep coming back and lurking around even after people turn off anon. Ugh, what even.

I don't even like DenSu that much! I mean, it's okay, but it isn't something I feel passionate about or anything. But christ this jackass just makes me want to write pages and pages of kinky porn of it in hopes that it'll make their head explode.

I feel like they must have some issues if this is how they choose to spend their time. For years. YEARS! I thought it was an isolated incident of shiprage, it was only later through hearing on meme and on tumblr about the continuing harrassment/spam that I realized apparently it's a pathetic one-anon crusade.

I almost feel sorry for them because that's just fucking sad when you're that dedicated to putting down others.

But then again, they're being incredibly annoying, overentitled, and potentially quite hurtful to others' feelings, so I don't feel sorry for them after all. I feel sorry for DenSu (and for that matter, SuFin) fans who have to suffer this idiot mucking around.

I'm with you there, right after that I tried to find and reblog more DenSu content of the same type that pissed them off, but sadly at that time I'd run out of stuff I considered quality.

Though the most interesting one of those was probably when they accused me of being the kink meme mod.

Someone once messaged me out of the blue asking me to draw their OTP.

Not entirely unusual, but their OTP consisted of two OCs, and they sent me a link to a blog with reference pictures.

I followed said link only to discover a shitstorm going down between the requester and somebody else, full on posting long threads of vicious comments from DeviantART. I tracked down the DA artist and discovered the OCs were hers, that she explicitly denied others permission to draw them, and that she had a canon pairing with another OC and the OTP I was asked to draw was her NOTP. But the person who messaged me was fighting her over them and accusing her of being homophobic (the official pair was straight, the pair they asked me to draw was yuri).

It was incredibly surreal and I still have no idea why I was asked to get involved in this, given that I didn't know either of them, I was messaged on a non-art blog, and the requester wasn't even following me to begin with.

a few months ago an anon messaged my historical sideblogs asking why i would use such "crude" words. they never specified what they were referring to but i'm guessing it was my blog's title (it's a fuck yeah blog ftr) because the only blog i swear on is my personal

i ended up politely explaining the fuck yeah meme to them because i figured they must be new to tumblr (i mean really, not understanding the fuck yeah meme?)?_? but it still was very weird
