Post 'em here. You don't have to necessarily show work in progress as we just had a WIP thread last night, unless of course you want to. But, feel free to talk, whine, lament over stuff you are working on or thinking of starting or yadda yadda.

I'm thinking of making an FST.

Uniform smut.

Currently working on:
-Norway/Germany get-together fic. It's taking forever. I keep getting frustrated with it, but I think that if I keep hammering away at it, it'll be fine. I feel kind of weird, because the prompt it's for is something I'd usually roll my eyes at, but I guess it just stuck.
-Germany/Norway bondage thing - I haven't worked on it in a few weeks, but once I get around to that, I think it'll go quickly. I have it all planned out, and there isn't much plot, anyway.

Fics I haven't started:
-17th-century Netherlands/Norway/Denmark. I know how I want it to go, but I haven't started it yet. And yesterday I was talking to someone about it and they got really excited so... hopefully I'll start it sooner rather than later.
-That thing with the breathplay and the necrophilia
-That Norway/Belgium thing with the ships

Other stuff:
-An all-metal Nordics FST. This is a lot harder than it sounds.
-A Norway/Germany FST. It's shaping up to be all instrumentals so far... which is a little odd, but it suits them somehow.
-Transferring all of the bookmarks from the LJ version of the Nordex to the DW version. Still.

-That thing with the breathplay and the necrophilia

The tl;dr of it is that Denmark and Norway are both into weird and unsafe kinks.

I think it was originally going to be for the kink meme, but I'd have to dig for the prompt. The scenario was that one or both persons had kinks that they weren't really open about because they thought the other would be put off/creeped out by it. Somehow, they find out what their partner's into, and it turns out that they'd be totally willing to do that.

And then they do it.

Fun! If I had immortality/fast healing like a nation-tan (that is, a nation-tan not in any actual nation crisis like war or economic problems), I'd totes try some crazy unsafe kinks too.

Ahh, that so? I'm glad! \o/ It'll take me a while to put them together, but hopefully the result will be good.

The main problem I'm running into with the metal one is that a lot of the metal I listen to has a very specific plotline of its own in the lyrics, so it's hard to make it fit to anything else.

And the all-instrumental one is hard because I don't usually listen to a lot of instrumentals, and I'm trying to avoid using stuff from film scores and the like (though I might end up doing that if I find something that fits perfectly). Plus figuring out the story that I want to tell with it is challenging; it's hard to get firm on the details since the only tracks that I'm 100% sure on are high-impact songs meant to portray the past/negative parts of their relations, but I don't want too much emphasis on that.

I see what you mean. I feel there's a real divide between the way the song flows and what the words say, too, so my problem when making FSTs (I suck at them, so it never gets farther than on my ipod playlist) is that the tunes match up but the lyrics totally don't.

Or the lyrics are super cheesy. :') Metal lyrics, y'know.

Why are you trying to avoid film scores? Too bombastic a sound, or too well-known tunes?

Yeah! Cheesy = definitely a problem too. xD Though I find my cheese tolerance is pretty high, which helps.

I'm trying to avoid film scores because most of the ones that I listen to are from popular animated films (How to Train your Dragon and such) and that'd obviously have an effect on how it's viewed... I might have something in mind for my narrative, but people would still associate it with the movie. So unless I sought out stuff that I normally wouldn't think to listen to, it just wouldn't work. Though I might end up doing that, just to see where it gets me.

Hmmm, good point. I listened to a playlist that had the prologue from Beauty and the Beast awhile ago and while it was thematically related to the playlist it also took me back to the movie itself, it's true. I think I might be the only one who hasn't seen either of the HTTYD movies!

Though I keep getting embarrassed or unsure, so I quit for long periods of time because I haven't written girl on girl in a long time.

I have two ongoing WIPs (one at the kinkmeme) that I want to finish. They're both really long!! After that I have a pile of half-started, somewhat-aborted ideas that.... ideally, I want to finish. Various pairings but mostly RusCan. And, I still love those pairings and those ideas...

But I don't know how much I'll get done before next year/before I lose interest in fandom entirely. :c I know it sounds so defeatist, but I've just gotten through a huge dry spell that had me questioning everything and I just. I'm so tired, meme. I work, I school, I come home to cook dinner and clean dishes and go to bed again. I still love writing and reading but I'm just so exhausted.

I understand the exhaustion. And sometimes it's really hard to set aside time to write... I have that issue, there. Good luck with everything, anon.
