Of course. I had sent my Olive Branch Petition before declaring independence. Unfortunately, England has decided not to treat me as anything more than a tax interest. He has violated my clear rights under the Magna Carta. If he would be willing to afford me my rights and proper representation in the House of Parliament, I would be willing to remain with him. But as he will not do so, I will have nothing further to do with him.

I do not exist to merely be recognized and remembered when he needs money.
