356 vivacious vampires

Oh vampires! Oh meme! It's October, which is officially Halloween season. And... Himaruya is back? Kind of? Sort of? In a way. I wonder if we'll ever find out what happened on Halloween. Or if it will forever remain... a mystery. Much like the decision making process behind most of these titles.

Enjoy part 356!

I've read Carrie and the Shining. The movie versions are great but I prefer the books, especially to Carrie because a lot of things get lost in movie adaption (a shame really). I need to by myself a copy of 'Salem's Lot and Misery, as well as some other books, like It.

Shamelessly plugs in the last two graphics he's made

ia about Carrie. The latest film was actually written to be fairly close to the book. It included interviews, the White Commission, Sue being accused of being in on it, Sue's perspective (through a video diary, not "I Am Sue Snell" excerpts) etc... then it got hacked to pieces like 2 months before it was originally supposed to come out. (I think, March or so. Then they suddnely moved the release date to October, and did a bunch of reshooting.)

Is that from the script right? Because that sounds like a very good adaptation. Actually I'm just mad they don't develop the other characters more often in the movies than in the book. Like Chris for example; yes she was a bitch, but then there was like a whole sub-plot of her setting up the prank, fighting with Sue, some background between her and Billy etc.

Of course, everyone was disappointed there was no town destruction scene, especially when the teaser trailer implied it was going to happen.

From what I've read, the director moved it from March to October because the of Sandy Hook shootings happening recently before the original release?

It's from the original screenplay!

I don't know if I buy that explanation fully, though, because there was a test screening in January and someone said they kept in most of the elements from the screenplay (interviews and Sue's video diary) but then over the summer they did a bunch of reshoots and then, we get the remake that is basically like... the original film with some additions. Like flying.

Chris has never been properly represented IMO. I think the remake Chris was probably closer to the book Chris, though. The mini-series Chris actually shows remorse and almost doesn't pull the string until Billy yells at her!
