It's gonna be already May! Have you done your spring cleaning yet? I can't believe the year is almost half over already, it seems like it's going so fast, too fast... ah! And we're only a few months away from a new season and hopefully a certain someone will finish up certain storylines they haven't finish coughcoughcough.

Enjoy part 361!

ha, first time I've actually watched the video version of one of these, usually I just see them as gifsets on tumblr

I guess they chose that look to portray the growing discontent in the GDR?

Youtube comments + Google fu tells me that the look was based on Nina Hagen, a singer, but that look wasn't mainstream/common at all. It's kind of odd for them to choose that look, considering that all the other looks are more standard/typical.

Aaand now I've watched all of them in a row, whew!

Hum! Yeah I guess they just decided they needed something that would show a big difference between the two sides and comment on the politics of the era. Not to mention it's a great way to encapsulate how bifurcated popular culture was in the 80s with prep vs punk. Can't show that as easily in the single-person versions.

When I was in high school (god I graduated 8 years ago I'm so old) we used to call each other slut, bitch, whore, uhh, pretty much just lobby insults as we walked by each other in the hallway for no particular reason? I remember once walking by a friend who said "(MY NAME) SUCKS COCK FOR BREAKFAST" and they got hauled into the office and I had to go in and explain that no no no, we were really good friends, we call each other terrible things all the time.

A few years ago I went to an airport and against my better judgement ate a chicken salad sandwich from their deli

the person sitting in the aisle seat ended up switching with me so I wouldn't have to keep climbing over them to get to the bathroom

The one I just made. We ordered very spicy Thai food for dinner and it didn't agree me with earlier and it's now 1 am so I decided "hey better eat some more of that very spicy Thai food 20 minutes before bed time"

this will not end well

Vaguely related: I had a friend in college who made grotesque faces as a greeting if we spotted each other across the room

One time I was walking along with my boss, the head of the school library, and I saw my friend coming up the stairs. She made this scowly sneering face, baring her teeth--before realizing who I was walking with, and who thought the face was being directed at her. Took me a while to stop laughing before I could properly explain to the bewildered librarian that no, it was ok, she was just saying hi to me :'D
