For now, just the crossover fic I've been writing. Not a lot of time to write it now, considering the semester has started.

Rei took a deep breath and then sighed, feeling her composure relaxing once more. She ignored the sweat gathered on her brow and instead opened her eyes to the sight of flames crackling before her. Although the heat was terrific it was not the cause of her sweating; trying once more, Rei made several hand gestures to the flames and watched in concern as they grew upon reaction. Within the fire an apparition began to appear, first as the likeness of a young woman and then morphing into a far sinister looking figure. It disappeared as the fire shrunk down again and Rei chewed her lower lip.

It was no use – nothing had changed since the last time she read the flames. Rei wiped the sweat from her brow and then rose to her feet; a young woman… a sinister looking ghoul… what could it all mean? Her assumptions wanted to say the Death Busters, or even worse, the Silence, but she refrained from making such accusations. Pushing the door aside, she stepped outside into the morning sunshine and sighed when feeling a cool breeze sweep past her. Rei brushed the hair from her eyes and then started walking toward the main gates.

“What was his name again?” he asks the shipwright.

“Ludik, I believe. Wait, no… Ludwig,” the shipwright pauses, closing his eyes. “Something like it, at least.”

The bruise on the man’s temple. The amount of chains around his limbs. The proud posture.

Sadik knows a challenge when he sees one. Though he also knows it’s a bad idea, he lets out a deep breath and gets up, heading towards the stage.

“I really think you shouldn’t, Sadik,” his friend calls after him.

The sun bears down on him as soon as he leaves their tent, agreeing with his friend.

“I know, I know,” he grumbles, ascending the steps until he’s up on stage with Ludwig.
