Italy is all slow and sexy about it. First treats himself to dinner. Probably lights a candle. He's special, you know, he deserves it.

Romano has been caught by the Pope so many times that right now it's just. Not an issue anymore. There's some drama when the new Pope comes in but after a while it's all, "Oh, ciao, whassup," "Oh, hola Romano, care for some mate when you're done? And don't forget to confess!"

Honestly, if you're going for "all of Italy" I could see it maybe, but if you specifically split North and South then yeah - making the North be "blonder" is the same visual shorthand I would use. North Italy was inhabited by the Gauls before the Romans, and it has been under Austrians and French control for a huge chunk of its history.

And I find the Titian red hair Italy has got going on sometimes absurdly sexy so I'm all for it.

Apparently he goes from Titian red to a hue that is called Venetian hair, and now I wonder why people boggle so much at the idea of blond Northern Italians when apparently you can't go to a hair salon without stumbling upon the concept.

Or maybe people think all those blond and red-haired beauties were idealized? Yeah, a little, but also not as much as you think.

if you're going to brussels, stick to the old town. the rest of it is disappointing and dirty. (although i might be biased, having lived there.)
leuven is a good day trip, you should go see the cathedral and museum m. the university library is beautiful too, but i think access inside is restricted. there's some abbeys that might be interesting too but i haven't visited them personally. there's plenty of places to shop and eat also. watch out for rogue bicycles.
bruges is really pretty, but not much to do if i recall right. they boast of 14 historical locations on their website but /shrug. belfort.
there's a lot more to do in ghent, visit the castle and take a trip down the river on a boat.
antwerp's nice too. visit the zoo if you like zoos. i haven't really been for tourism in years ... they have a good cinema?
you should also consider oostende if you like the beach and the ardennes. especially the ardennes! you should visit the caves of han or something ...
