I'm chinese though. My grandma once advised me that if I had to marry a white guy, the russians were ok with her because they're smart.

Although she also cautioned me that they drink too much.

So I guess that's my grandma-approved backup option should I fail to settle down with a Nice Chinese Boy: the mystical Teetotaler Russian Genius.

(My family also has a surprisingly good opinion of the french - I say "surprisingly" certainly not to disparage the french, but it's just confusing to me because surely the french stereotype of artsy/romantic/rebellious runs directly counter to the chinese ideal of practical/rational/obedient...? I hate getting scenario ideas I don't know how to use. I have a darkfic idea stuck in my head but if played in canonverse a) it skirts too close to real historical nastiness for my comfort zone (I can do that, just not in porn), b) one of the characters would be underage, which I'm also not at ease with, c) I can't think of any possible way humans could force two nations, one of whom is an empire at that point and likely has proportionate power, to do anything, which is required for it to work. AU is the obvious option, but no idea what to do with that.

speaking of edging, I wonder how common it is, but I feel like the normal way that edging is portrayed in writing/fic (and the few videos I've watched) is not what it's like for me? Like in fic it always seems like "build build build to orgasm omg almost there, bam something to bring them back down (ice, whatever) and they're not as horny but then build build build omg almost there again,, bam something" etc, like an up and down graph. Whereas when I've tried it it's more like "build build, do something so you don't orgasm, but then when you go back to touching/teasing it's really uncomfortable and too sensitive to bother with." Maybe it's different for guys? idk

well i guess it depends on if you /like/ the oversensitivity, which i personally do and it's kind of the point? like for me it become simultaneously very uncomfortable AND pleasurable when i finally get there.

so i get what you're saying except i just push on despite the discomfort because i like the discomfort, if that makes sense, that's what makes it hotter for me and ultimately more pleasurable.

I think for me, the disconnect is that orgasms are described in fic/erotica as being... a specific point to reach, like the bell on a Test Your Strength machine, and that 'edging' makes you go up and down that bar until you finally reach The Orgasm at the top, which remains the same except for the journey to getting there. Whereas from experience, it's not like that at all, and after a certain point there's so much sensitivity that the orgasm (if reached) is different.

I get what you mean, though, it's different for everyone! I suppose I juts fee like "... oh" because of how different actual edging is versus how it's portrayed.
