Actually, I was thinking of Korea - nation ageing is weird and I headcanoned he'd be fifteen during the war and go up to sixteen to mark his freedom. I've seen a few fics where characters like Germany and Russia are forced into doing terrible things to family or friends by war circumstances or awful humans, but every time Japan does bad things to his family in fic he's totally into it and I don't think that's fair. Honestly the incest, rape, and puking bother me less than him being underage, which is kinda stupid because as long as it's in text and not drawing format I'm not breaking any laws but I keep feeling as if I am. Ah well, squicks aren't rational.
