i guess i headcanon that america's glasses don't actually represent texas. he's updated them many times over the years, because dude's gotta stay in fashion, so it's not even the same pair of glasses (though the very original ones he snatched from mexico are kept somewhere safe). but he always calls them texas, and, the rules of what represents what not being an exact science among the personifications, some other nations believe him and think the glasses have been magically changing over time as texas modernizes alongside the rest of the us.
