YOU DID IT, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU. Well, it's been a year. I hope it was a good one for you--and that 2018 is even better! And maybe we'll finally get that fansub of even one of the musicals... just maybe.

Enjoy part 367!

ITT: freelancer woes

cos i think there are at least two or three of us here

i fucked up my sleep schedule pulling all nighters to get projects done because what is time management. now for the last few days, i've been sleeping from 7am to 3pm. this...is not ideal, not least of all because i think the lack of daylight is adversely affecting my mood.

it's nearly 4am i'm wiiiiiiiide awake. gdi self.

My sleep schedule is so fucked because of freelancing! night is the only time I can have genuine peace and quiet to work.

Also ughhh juggling 3 different freelancing jobs is frustrating, especially when no one in my family really respects it as work and I live at home, so I'm constantly obligated to drop everything at a moment's notice to (babysit/run errands/clean). I've lost out on hundreds of dollars because of it... yay.

/brofist for sleepfail

ugh, that's so annoying. i guess to look on the positive, you could think of the family is your 4th freelance job that pays you free room/food?

my mom's always pushing me to get a 'real' job again as well, though i'm making about the same as i did at my old job and have a bit more freedom (plus no office politics) so i really want to see if i can make this work in the long term.

Sometimes I try to think that way, other times I get frustrated because some family members have made remarks about me needing to contribute more to the household (I am the only adult sibling who lives at home now, plus a teenage younger sibling!) but at the same time they also expect me to watch their children 1-3 times a week, all day, which makes it hard.

Lack of workplace drama/politics is the best part of freelance tbh! What sort of freelancing do you do?

eek. hopefully you can make enough to move out soon. i could never deal with that, i'm no good with kids and one of them would probably set the house on fire during my watch.

i'm a graphic designer. are you the one who does articles?

nope, I do e-book editing/layouts, criticism/here's what you need to fix and marketing advisement!

It's a strange situation haha. My grandpa does not mind my living at home, it's just the other adult siblings who have made remarks or whose remarks got passed down through the grapevine (so some of them I take with salt). I think most of it is done with good intentions in the sense that they want to see me living on my own like they do, it's just kind of ??? at times.

yay graphic design! Do you use any 'freelance' websites like Guru & such? Or do you work through a company?

I'm making a logo for a friend and his family. I showed him a few sketches and he liked the first one I did, my absolute least favorite. I encouraged him to show all 4 sketches to his dad+bro, though we agreed that the third one, while designed neatly, messed with the pun we were going for. Aaaand then his family chose the third one. WELLP :'D

It's not for anything very important and it's at least one of the better designs I did, but it's pretty rare to have the whole "client picks the least favorite design" thing happen TWICE in one project :'D
