part 367 bears and wolves oh my
YOU DID IT, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU. Well, it's been a year. I hope it was a good one for you--and that 2018 is even better! And maybe we'll finally get that fansub of even one of the musicals... just maybe.
Enjoy part 367!

I used to be pretty addicted to History Channel stuff until it became impossible to sift through the dreck any longer
I remember one special that allowed a bunch of crackpots to spout their """"theories""""" about aliens that taught egyptians how to make pyramids and just haaaappened to look like white men with beards and then the filmmakers had little segments interviewing actual archaeologists who were just like "what are they goddamn talking about, i hate everything"

(Anonymous) 2018-02-16 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)if any piece of history has taught us anything about humanity, it is that 1) humans are real good at making cool shit, and 2) humans are real good at destroying shit - my point being, the fact that we later rediscover a level of advancement that we had not previously thought humans were capable of at a certain time shouldn't be all that surprising.
i also don't understand why some people act like it HAS to tie in to aliens or angels or whatever to make an archaeological find interesting.
if you know of any credible, credulous, non-clickbaitshit archaelogy sites or channels please let me know.
and as a sidenote, i may have spoken too soon about the paracas skulls, as those latest dna tests may be merely tossing them out of one dumbass frying pan directly into the fires of an even hotter idiocy. see, in 2014 there was a pretty shady dna study conducted by one brien foerster - who already had a bias, having previously championed ancient astronaut theories and extraterrestrial human origin theories - which claimed that the skulls had dna "unknown" in any human, primate or animal, aka I'M NOT SAYING IT WAS ALIENS BUT IT WAS...
so, i was relieved to see that there had been a new study done in 2017, which found that the paracas people were indeed human, but surprisingly more closely related to european/middle eastern populations. which sounds pretty fascinating until you realize that this dna study was organized and funded by this guy named la marzulli who totes the theory that - and i promise i am not making this up - the paracas people were half-human, half-nephilim, as in the result of humans breeding with motherfucking angels like i just... what... oh by the way? mr marzulli is, of course, coming out with a GROUNDBREAKING book about all this. get it before DEEP GOVERNMENT shuts it down! THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT THE HALF-ANGEL FANFIC ANCIENT HISTORY, ZEE!!
fuck all, i hate everything too

'Course I don't actually tend to see ancient aliens theories lobbed at the Greeks, just Egyptians and Aztecs and other completely coincidentally nonwhite civilizations, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... wonder whyyyyyy...
But yeah, we're great at making stuff and just as great at forgetting stuff. Sometimes we think we've forgotten something, re-make and perfect the technology, then realize the original concept wasn't new tech at all! Human ingenuity and creativity and simple bloody-minded stubbornness to Do The Cool Thing is a wonderful power and we didn't need aliens to help us in any way.
Aw mannnn why's it always gotta be someone tied up in ancient alien nonsense... I'm so sorry your history is being sullied by these crackpots, anon ;o;
I don't have tv anymore so I stay far away from all that noise, but I follow some ancient history tumblrs?

And here's the only ancient-alien-related media I'll tolerate, Ancient Aliens, a song by Lemon Demon. It's surprisingly emotional and kinda beautiful? No "here silly human this is how you make a pyramid" nonsense, just a very very early human trying to come to grips with a new being in their midst. (There aren't any plain videos of the song on youtube so that's a video of the full album set to start at the right song)
