it's me! It's going well, how are you doing?

I have and my wallet is regretting it haha. I found an up and coming fantasy pin maker who isn't as exclusive or limiting (they keep things private but they have pretty much unlimited presale spots) and over the next few months they're planning on making quite a few Star Wars pins so I'm pretty excited about that!

I do! Unfortunately my perfectionist side wants to change it up because... well basically all my pins are one group of 10 in one style (from my graphic designer friend) but then there are 2 that are different and the Junko Mizuno one is VERY different and it's annoying me to death. Like, if there's going to be variety I want it all to be varied and not have a couple that just don't fit.

Glad you found some easier to get pins! I love the Luke/Leia one, that artist has a great style! If I were still into BBC Sherlock I'd sooo get the Sherlock/John ones.

And I'm tempted by the Over the Garden Wall set at Gallery Nucleus. I don't know though, I think I've mentioned the other thing I collect is anime figures and the price on those has risen a lot over the last year so I've got to be careful with my spending. I mean, pins are relatively cheaper but then again adding up just the ones I mentioned here that's probably like $70-80 already haha.

I'm 45 minutes away from a screening of that Sailor Moon musical but I can't go because I can't drive and the screening is at 8 PM on a Sunday so it'll be impossible to get a ride and I don't have a spare $80 to spend on a round-trip uber or lyft for this.

Was thinking about Bee and Puppycat lately and I'm still kind of sad that great big hype train kind of petered out to nothing much. So much promise, so little delivery.

I mean, I do think part of the problem was mismanagement of timing/production and the frustrating release schedule. And part of it was an overwhelming degree of hype that no show could live up to.

But even if you try to not consider those factors and try to judge it without expectation, I rewatched it the other day and it is still so... ehh. Though I do think the ending improves on rewatch and with watching the whole set in one go. There were some neat ideas, but the overall execution is lacking and the humor is tepid.

I was super into this IP at one point and can't help but feel that if only the pitch had gone to CN instead and gotten more polished, especially on the writing side, not to mention a sane non-frustrating release schedule, it could've really made it.

Are you me? I feel the exact same way. It didn't live up to expectations and I kept my expectations as low as possible.

Hello, long-lost disappointment twin!

Yeah. On the bright side, I feel like it opened some doors, or at least poked at them. Bee was pretty one-dimensional, but she was also the first time I've seen a female protagonist be the goofy slacker type, a trope usually reserved for guys.

And on the less bright side, Frederator Studios acted irresponsibly throughout (not to mention I'm extremely suspicious about where their budget actually went; that should've been way more than enough to fund what amounted to only 50 minutes of animation, and pretty basic animation at that) and I will never contribute to any of their projects ever again.

I'm 28 and I haven't accomplished much. Ahh. :(
