no I will not write a 300-word summary of someone's 30 page medical findings for $5. yes I know it's "only" 300 words. but it involves like... minimum an hour of reading plus more time to write notes, create an outline, and then do what I hate doing: summarizing a long-ass amount of material in a short-ass amount of words.

I messed up my shoulder in the middle of April and it hurts really bad :( Every time it starts to feel better I have to do something that over-extends it and it hurts again

I'm finally gonna be moving away from the horror that is NYC back to California, and the logistics of moving is j;alskja;lf

Like, I have to time when I sell/trash most of my furniture or other belongings I can't take with me just right so I don't end up with no chairs or anything. Plus some of the stuff I'm selling/trashing are equipment I use for streaming, and I don't want to interrupt that schedule.

Also the weather sucks

nooo it's not dramatic...clearly we both feel the same way (and thank goodness for that. sharing in the bizarreness makes it easier to deal with the bizarre! seriously, going into it with a connection to just the history of it and then the way things played out for our characters in a way that was meant to be, it just forged a whole new uncanny connection to it.

that sucks that the recording was not what you thought it'd be (some proshot, i guess...) but at least now you know; otherwise you would just still be wishing you'd gotten it, especially if the opportunity had passed you by to find it. ahh that trailer looks good. i think the theater's doing a production here this summer and i wish i could go but ;_;

when you say you got us on the officer's promenade, i guess you mean when we were vying for a spot on the lifeboats? we weren't interacting in the actual chat, though (like there was any way to!) so maybe you screenied one of our PMs together?

i forgot to ask you what room you were in at the moment of impact. i was wondering if the experience was more intense for me being on deck than in the rooms. i was just in the middle of a sassy retort to davo, too, so i was completely unprepared, rofl

I tried half-explaining the RP to a friend and how impacting it was and they just thought it was funny and didn't understand why I would feel dramatic/emotional about it. I'm glad that you understand and feel the same way, even though it can be strange!

Definitely misleading... I mean it's a "proshot" in that they were stationary cameras presumably set up by the crew for the cast, but, c'mon! Lol.

Oh yes, I mean when we were vying for a spot on the lifeboats. It was a screenshot of the promenade and not our messages. I'd have to double check on my laptop to see what I got, but I don't think I managed any screenshots of our PMs. I wish we'd been able to back them up somehow.

NGL... I can't quite recall. It's all a blur! Was I outside or in the smoking room? I remember we went on deck and then I went into the smoking room to ask if anyone knew what was going on, then went back outside to tell everyone, then that officer told us all to go back in the smoking room. Hmm! And the history page is down so I can't double check.

Ahhh you know, I was checking the Facebook page for the RP the other day, and in the suggestions post someone brought up people spoiling the RP by going "ZOMG THERE'S WATER IN THE CARGO HOLDS/BOILER ROOMS/ETC" in the smoking rooms. Pff.

I wish audiobooks would employ at least two readers, one male and one female, for books with a lot of dialogue.

It's inevitably unintentionally funny/awkward sounding when someone tries to do the different voices for characters of opposite gender. Men doing a female voice usually make the character sound whiny or like the narrator is mocking the character; women doing a male voice are usually slightly less grating to my ear (well, granted, there's an obvious bias since I'm a woman) but also make those characters silly and cartoonish even if the scene demands a serious tone.

I do understand that an audiobook is not a radio play and doesn't have the same budget, and I'm sure just the hassle of coordinating timing between two people and/or editing together two people's performances would require a lot more labor... but it would make SUCH a big difference for many books.

This comes to mind because I'm currently listening to Hex by Thomas Heuvelt and every time the narrator reads the dialogue for a female character - or kids, it's even worse with kids - it's like nails on a chalkboard. I'm not blaming the dude, he has a fairly deep, gritty tough-guy kind of voice which sounds great for most of the story and I'm sure it isn't easy to try to force it into a higher pitch. But god I wish they'd got a female narrator to do the female characters' lines. Every woman in this story sounds like a cross between Mickey Mouse and a whoopee cushion.

I had a dream where I was try to re-connect with this orca whale I had met when I was little--in the dream, anyway. I connected with him mentally by going underwater at this specific lake which connected to the ocean. So I went back there as an adult on a trip with my old teachers, but the water was so murky, it didn't work. Then someone told me that they moved the water from that lake to this ocean front pool complex on the other side of the park, so I went there. When I went there theere were these body bags laying on the side of the pool, and the lifeguard said "oh no biggie, they just didn't pay attention to the drop off signs and drowned. Make sure you do." Then this guy came up to me and said he would help me not drown and asked about my attempts to re-connect to the whale.

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't re-connect... so I left the water and this guy followed me. He said something like, "I"m sorry I couldn't re-connect with you, but my human form makes it impossible." So I realized... it was him!! He was the orca I had met so long ago!! I lost him in a crowd but I ran back and found him and held him and we reunited.


Theeeeeeeen the dream shifted into this weird "the punk kids at the park took it over" thing and I woke up.

But I found my orca ;~;
