freelance complaining

And I take a break from my freelance work to complain mightily about clients who something think that my order turnaround time is just this magical random number that has no meaning. Like I say "7 days" for the fun of it, and not because it takes me 7 days to complete orders. So they order... and then wait 2 days... 3 days... sometimes even 5 days, like right now, to send me the order information. And then they expect the order to be finished on day 7 after they paid, except I haven't had 7 days to work. Then when I have to deliver it empty, and I explain that it's because I can only deliver 7 days after I receive the information, they get mad.

Once I even tried explaining that if they order on Day 1 and give me information on Day 4, they'd be basically getting a rush order 3-day delivery time for free if I delivered on Day 7, which in their case would have been an additional $60 fee.

Sadly the site I use doesn't allow me to reject orders or otherwise extend the delivery time without requiring them to also make a further purchase, because I'd just do that if I could.
