gah i want it! colonists vs faerie-ish fantasy natives-of-ambiguous-ethnicity, guns vs magic/spirits(?). the part that intrigues me is that apparently a lot of the game is about diplomacy and/or trickery; you can ally with different factions (including the native faerie(?) people) and possibly use them against each other for your own ends.

so fucking gorgeous. i actually don't care for dark souls (blasphemy i know, i just don't care for the slow combat) but i LOVED bloodborne beyond all reason, and this looks more bloodborne-y in terms of speed of movement in battle. either way, from always fulfills all my grimdark cravings story-wise; they're entertainingly over-the-top while also having actual genuine poignancy which is really difficult to pull off - so often super morbid grim nihilistic settings can come across as juvenile and/or trying too hard.

not entirely sold on it, but i am intrigued. also i don't know why this trailer is marked mature. there's nudity but the bits are covered up and it's definitely not sexual. or was it the bit with the toenail? ngl that made me cringe and i may have to avert my eyes from the screen if the game literally wants me to pull off my own toenail from time to time. not sure why that seems nastier than, say, chopping people in half with giant fantasy sword per every other game; maybe because toenail injuries are generally more likely irl than swordfights...
