YOU DID IT, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU. Well, it's been a year. I hope it was a good one for you--and that 2018 is even better! And maybe we'll finally get that fansub of even one of the musicals... just maybe.
Enjoy part 367!

Re: ITT: what have you read/watched/etc lately?
(Anonymous) 2018-08-26 03:33 am (UTC)(link)Aurora - oh my god I did not expect to cry buckets at the end. I hate crying. I never cry. And this was the best kind of cry. It wasn't a cheap tear-jerker obvious push-the-tragedy-button maudlin sadness but a kind of more... I dunno, it's a bit hard to explain, but this novel encompassed so much of the fantastic and terrible things about humanity as a whole, about the ambitions and sacrifices and pitfalls and wonders of our entire species, and literally at the end of this book I can't quite pin down why I'm so deeply moved and blubbering because it's not even a sad ending, overall, it's just... It's just great. And this is the sort of book I'd definitely reread sometime. I'm glad I gave it a shot, because I'd been afraid I would be bored; it's very long, and it's not quite the sort of scifi that is usually my thing. Fortunately I was intrigued by the premise of a different approach to the idea of generation ships and space colonization and decided to try.
