part 367 bears and wolves oh my
YOU DID IT, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU. Well, it's been a year. I hope it was a good one for you--and that 2018 is even better! And maybe we'll finally get that fansub of even one of the musicals... just maybe.
Enjoy part 367!

31 Days of Meme Halloween!
It's time for the 31 Days of Meme Halloween! A month of ghouls and ghosts and nightmare monsters! A month of dastardly Halloween discussions, petrifying Halloween picspams, and as always, scary streams.
today's theme: unpopular halloween/horror/spooky opinions
Let's admit it... we all have some opinions about Halloween, horror (movies/books/video games/etc) or just general spooky/scary/creepy/
hairythings that everyone else just plum disagrees with. So! What are some of your unpopular opinions related to horror as a genre, spooky/scariness, and/or the Halloween season?

(Anonymous) 2018-10-16 04:35 am (UTC)(link)Stemming from the time a former friend was completely obnoxious and going on and on about how scary/creepy clowns are wah wah wah while a person working as a clown, a not-intentionally-creepy clown, was right there trying to do her goddamn job, as were some kids/other people trying to enjoy the performance. Completely rude, bratty, and uncalled for.
Frankly, I doubt that this particular person was even that afraid of clowns as she made no attempt to move her ass. Being afraid of clowns is one of those things that's strangely on-trend so that lots of unaffected people convince themselves they have it, ala gluten intolerance and an aversion to the word "moist."
I still get mad thinking about this. Adults behaving worse than toddlers = my pet peeve, adults behaving worse than toddlers in public = are you fucking serious.
Luckily, people are getting better about this. At least these days people know to stfu about visible real life disfigurements that they find scary.

If it's something you're genuinely terrified about, then remove yourself from the situation, don't make a nuisance!
Re: today's theme: unpopular halloween/horror/spooky opinions
Halloween:
I don't like gore/creepy decorations very much. Skeletons are about as 'scary' as mine get, maybe a touch of decorative blood for vampires or a particularly spooky ghost.
I love "trunk or treating," downtown storefront trick or treating, library trick or treating... no, none of them have that same magic as trick or treating in a full neighborhood like when I was a kid, but traditions and area trick-or-treat volume changes and they're a great way to help your kids show off their costumes without having to drive around to find a neighborhood where people still trick or treat.
I don't think this is unpopular anymore since now my generation are adults and it seems like this attitude was super prevalent back then but not so much now, but, as long as teens are in a costume they can trick or treat!
Music releases of ambient creepy Halloween music or sound effects or both need to make a comeback.
Horror movies:
I think the English remake of "Let the Right One In" is absolutely beautifully done and I love it just as much as the original.
As a rule I don't care for 'torture porn' movies but I have a soft spot (???is that a pun???) for some of the exploitation flicks of the 70s, like the original The Last House on the Left. They're horrifying in this weirdly mundane way that is hard to shake.
Paxcow is cute. Thanks, childhood defense mechanisms!
As Above, So Below is a good movie.
tht's all I can think of....!

I usually go to a store that sells little bags of it, there's about 5 pieces in each lil' bag and that's just enough.
