YOU DID IT, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU. Well, it's been a year. I hope it was a good one for you--and that 2018 is even better! And maybe we'll finally get that fansub of even one of the musicals... just maybe.

Enjoy part 367!

I've been bad about keeping up with reading, jeez I gotta set a GOAL for myself next year!

Anyhow: I went on a trip last week and brought two books, but came home with....eight new ones. nine if you count the info booklet that came with my new reproduction Cloisters Playing Card Deck *u*

(first we stopped by a small used bookstore and I nabbed half their collection of ancient egyptian books, then later on in the week we went to the Met Museum's Cloisters and I went uhhhh hogwild)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC has a satellite museum that's a castle in a nearby park, which houses more of their medieval art and architecture collection. If you purchase a ticket to the main Met (like we did) you can also go to the Cloisters for free! Y'know those famous unicorn tapestries? THEY TOTALLY HAVE ALL OF THEM, I had no idea!

They also have a beautiful deck of luxury playing cards, and sell reproductions in the gift shop. I'm kinda addicted to collecting cards right now, so I had to get them *o* Hilariously, they're such perfect reproductions that they even have the collection numbers the museum wrote on the back of every card, making them technically useless for any game unless you promise not to look too closely at the numbers, hahaha

What the heck that is amazing!!! You got to see them then?! Thta's awesome!

Oh goodness, that's really cool. Although ahaha, I can see where that would be a pain in the butt.

Did you get any books from the Cloisters shop then?
zeetee: Good good! (cooking mama)

Yeah!! It's a really great museum, and unlike the Met proper you can actually get through the whole thing in a single visit, even if you're like me and go verrrrry slowwwwly through museums

It's so meta--the exhibit said the cards are in such good condition it's likely they weren't played with, and were merely collector's items. And then they made their reproductions LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE to use, I love it

Yessss, a book on medieval fashion, one about other luxury playing cards (i don't have a problem) and a reprint of a book of maps depicting cities of the world first published in the 1600s *u*
