part 369 prohibition cocktails
Meme, you did it! And on Christmas, too!! How fancy. How was your year? It's almost the new year and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm excited to enter the 20s. We can finally bring back some excellent slang, like "That sounds berries to me!" or "I guess I'd describe myself as a cancelled stamp." Have a good year... and don't take any wooden nickels!
Enjoy part 369!

(Anonymous) 2020-05-10 01:49 am (UTC)(link)in like 8 years now, holy shit. Been working on it on and off when I get the time + inspiration, but now that I'm getting back into Hetalia at least the inspiration part's getting easier, woo! \o/“Watch yourself near the water,” his elders had warned. “Wade with care, for it houses the Nöcken," they'd say. Even his grandfather, who only ever spoke the truth, insisted he memorized the verse.
Beware if through water you must go,
hungry Nöcken hide in every flow.
With no steel and spell unspoken,
one's thread of fate ends up broken.
All twenty summers of his life, Ludwig had never seen a Nöck. Nor did he expect to. If they lived in every stream, at some point he should have spotted one.
His brother claimed he'd slew one when they were younger, but as he aged, Ludwig found his brother claimed many things. He put as much stock into that as he did in seeing a Nöck. A lazy way to scare children, nothing more, he thought.
Now, he no longer thought that.
Rising from the water, the beast before Feliciano had to be a Nöck. Shaped like a man, it bore two arms, two legs, a torso and a head. Yet it had no flesh, no skin. Its body was waves upon waves of water rolling down, into the river, and surging back up, never once breaching the shape of a man. A clear blue water flowed through its limbs, with the dark blue of a sea's floor at its core.
Over the slosh of rushing water, he heard the sharp voice of his grandfather, reminding him it's steel or a spell he needs.
He gripped the shaft of his spear, barking at Feliciano to run.
