[ooc: \o/ Yes, almost everyone at work got vaccinated, now we'll just have to hope that no big outbreak happens until the second shot.
And that those who already came down with covid manage to come through without major health problems. :/]

(ahh mun, I'm glad you were able to get the first vaccination. When did you get it, if you don't mind? It's like 2 weeks in between doses right?)

No problem, if you have any other question, I can try to answer those as well (as much as I can with my English). o7

So, I got the first one last week, the second one is due three weeks after the first one. If I remember correctly, after two weeks you can already have some sort of vaccine protection, but the second shot is necessary just to be extra safe.

The needle was very thin, I almost didn't notice it and didn't have any adverse/allergic reaction, aside from the injection site feeling a bit sensitive after a couple of hours, but that was no different from when I'm getting a flu shot. In general you shouldn't do sports or anything physically demanding afterwards and ideally sit down and wait at least 15 minutes, to see if there are any immediate side effects.
And out of several co-workers, only one had a mild headache afterwards, even someone else, who has many allergies, had no problems.

(I signed up for my city's vaccine schedule notification, but umm, considering the Trump administration botched the vaccine rollout... not sure when I will be eligible or when they will be available.)

And it's unfortunate - and that's putting it mildly - whenever politicians manage to make an even bigger mess out of all of this.

In Germany those who are 80 and older and also those who live in nursing homes alongside the people who work there
(and nurses and doctors etc.) are the first to receive vaccination.
It's certainly not handled perfectly here, but that was to be expected.

Currently I'm only worried about my parents, who have to wait for their turn since they're both "too young",
despite being at a high risk due to their various health problems. :/
