Should I mention that the number 11 scares me? I really don't like that number. Like how Natalie Portman hated the number 5 (or 6?) in Where the Heart Is. But a higher number. Well, anyway.

I couldn't sleep. And somehow I got it in my head that it'd be a good idea to try writing my first smut scene. I've wanted to try writing smut for a while.

Most of the "smut" I write is more like erotica than smut, I guess, but I figure as far as it goes, it's the same as with all things:

No matter how bad it is to begin with, you can always go back and fix it later.

Many an awful draft has been saved by some extremely thorough revising.

So, just go and write it! Don't stop to think about it or worry about it too much. When you go through and do your revising, you can make it sound a million times better.

She was going to be late. Again.

Lovina pouted as she stomped up the stairs that led to Antonia's bedroom. This was not the first time she had to drag her mentor to an important meeting and it sure as hell won't be last time. She took a deep breath, kicked open the bedroom door and was about to start yelling when the sight before her stopped her dead in her tracks.

Antonia was sprawled across the large bed with the covers going up only to her waist. Her dark locks were still half done up in a messy bun, the rest curling about her gently sleeping face like some chocolate halo. She was wearing the silk shirt that France (Lovina felt her eye twitch) had given her last Christmas and most of the buttons had come undone with one little disc keeping it from falling off all together. Smooth skin peeked out coyly from beneath thin white silk and Lovina could see the thin scars that crisscrossed over that taunt belly and the collarbones that nestled above the chest still rising and falling with every sleepy breath Antonia took.

Lovina could only stare mutely as her legs moved unconsciously, bringing her right to the side of the bed. From her new vantage point, she could see every little detail, from the tomato red lips that were parted ever so temptingly to the long lashes that fluttered lightly, under which Lovina knew hid the most lively pair eyes that could burn with emerald fire, glitter wildly with bloodlust or shine brightly with joy. The lazy afternoon sunbeams danced over tanned, smooth skin and made it seem as though it were dusted with gold. Antonia shifted slightly, her head turning so that it now faced Lovina head-on and the Italian noticed that there was a little comma of hair that fell right over her right eye.

Before she knew what she was doing, Lovina reached out to push the lock of hair out of the way, fingers lingering longer than they should have. Shit. Antonia started to stir, red lips parting in a yawn. Lovina sprang away from the bed but was captivated by the easy smile that Antonia gave her when she caught sight of the flustered Italian.

'Buenos días, poco de tomate', she murmured sleepily as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes. 'I- I am not a tomato!' Lovina squeaked out of habit. Urgh, that stupid tomato-head! Only she could ruin the mood like that!

'Hey, Lovina, why are you here?' said tomato-had asked, her head cocked to one side and looking every bit like an adorable puppy. Lovina could feel her already red cheeks darkening at the sight and she quickly turned away. 'You- you're gonna be late for the stupid meeting you have with that damned pervert and the potato-bitch you idiot! I- I just came to wake you up! That's all!' she spluttered.

'Oh. But it's still early, can't you let me sleep just a little longer?' she drawled and Lovina could hear the sheets rustling as the sun-kissed Nation snuggled back into bed. 'Oh no you don't, you lazy idiot!' said Lovina and she whirled around to yank the sheets roughly off the bed. This revealed that Antonia was wearing the bottom half of a matador outfit (she had been doing it for years and there was no living man who could stand in her way) and Dio! That ass! If she were blushing any harder, there would be no blood left to circulate her body and Lovina dropped the sheets hurriedly. She rummaged around the Spaniard’s wardrobe and yanked out the loosest, most non-revealing clothes she could find.

'Dammit! Wake up and put on some decent clothes will you! You'll have perverts crawling all over you! I'll wait for you downstairs!' she said, throwing the clothes over Antonia's head before rushing out of the room.

Antonia had only just yanked the clothes off her head when Lovina had slammed the door behind her. Murmured Italian curses and angry footsteps followed the Mediterranean Nation as she clomped down the stairs. Antonia stared at the space that the Italian had occupied a few seconds ago, remembering the red face and the spluttering speech and she smiled.

'Oh, Lovina, so cute!'
