So I'm reading this book about the fall of the wall and he's talking about the New Years party where everyone got smashed and danced. Some people take down the GDR flag and cut out the communist part then hoist it and it is all very symbolic and serious. Then someone puts up a European flag and it's sorta like 'kay whatever.' Then someone puts up a Canadian flag and everyone lols because that's just silly, wtf.

Well, uh, what in particular do you need? Personality? I'd say. Um. Getter more chill that he used to be. Still nitpicky over small details (though he did got over the yellow margarine thing). To people he likes, friendly in a, a raucous, gregarious sort of way? Less formal in his speech than France, tutoies more than vousvoies. Less raring after sovereignty than he used to be, though some of the politicians pitched fits after France's boss straight-out told them he thought it was a stupid idea. Getting more multicultural, though for the most part he's super, super into being super, super Quebecois. More of a tendency to like someone if they're francophone. No bowties, like, ever. Uses "pis" a lot for "and" or "also". (I heard a guy today go "ehhh, oui pis non", it was kinda cute!) Wiki has a good list of slang, that should help.

OH AND

- Know your stuff/History/Culture/whatever.
- Know your character's personality. Think about what they would say in certain situations.
- No god-modding. EVER. That means no taking over the situation.
- If you don't know about something, it'll only take a minute to look it up on google.

I'm irrationally pissed off by requests like this:

Where the request is just so blatantly OOC for the character and pairing that the character in question (Russia, in this case) just might as well be somebody else. Now I understand that a good writer could probably pull it off, but it would be quite the challenge in the second case. I also understand that as well as a batshitWTF side, Russia's also got a rather tender side. However, even that has to be handled with care, since no matter what you do, you're not going to get a healthy relationship between him and Lithuania while preserving his canon characterization.

For the first one? Just... come on. Even if you like the Canada/Russia pairing, there are other characters to pair him with where the very premise doesn't come off as ridiculously OOC, other characters like, say.... I dunno... practically everyone in the comic.

Disclaimer: Yeah, I know. Don't like, don't read. Your kink is not my kink. Etc. I know it totally shouldn't piss me off, since it's a kink meme, but yeah. Irrational annoyance. :/

I'm in the minority, but I hate requests that aren't porn of some kind. Fluff is kind of teetering the line, but requests that are blatant non-porn bother me. But, they're allowed on the kink meme, so oh well. still bothers me though. :/

Oh, and I hate hate hate fills that are freakishly continious. Not like "oh, I wrote this, and here's a sequel," but fills that are on part 3879343/???????? drive me nuts. Mainly because I'm looking for new porn to read when the meme updates and it's always the same few fills with continuations.
