This is a very rambling post today, I'm sorry, I'm in a tired rush. A tired tired summer rush. Which, in my professional opinion, is the most annoying kind of rush. I prefer a crisp winter rush! But oh well.

[Now he gets what Denmark is saying. He looks at the spear, then down at his gun -- no. Not his gun, Monaco's gun - and almost smiles. Almost.]

Aye, that's right. Ain't really my style, is it.

[Glances at him again, looking as if he's trying to decide something, then tosses the pistol aside, speaking quietly, almost gently.]

... Come on, now. Let's do this proper.

[With their hands, he means.]

[Gives him a 'Are you serious?' look.]

Drop that and get over here, why don't ya'. Don't make me tell you twice.

[chucks it and walks over]

[It's strange. Somehow, this doesn't feel different. After all the times he's nudged Denmark around, told him to do things, yanked his chain, ordered him around, somehow saying come over here doesn't feel any different, even with the situation they're in now.]

[Looks up for a second, and that's no different from the times he would kiss him rather than do anything else]

[Then tackles him, trying to bring him down]

[if he'd had a chance to brace himself, he might have been able to stay on his feet]


[falls back into the water with Norway on him]


[wraps his legs around Norway's waist to see if he can use the momentum from going backwards to flip them both over]

[Suddenly, they're soaked. It's just shallow, but that doesn't make it any less wet and cold.]

[He's flipped partway over, and lets out an angry, pained sound as he lands on the side where Spain kicked him in earlier. In retaliation he grabs a handful of Denmark's hair and tries to push his face into the water.]

[gets a bunch of saltwater up his nose fuckow]


[keeps his legs wrapped tight and swings his elbow up and then drives it down into whatever's closest. is that his clavicle?]

[iceandheather]

[It sure is.]

[Shrieks in pain and tries to roll over again, tries to get him on his back again, tries to get himself and under the water again, moving with his whole body and grabbing at Denmark's throat just under the collar.]

[no-]


[pinned, and no leverage]


[grabs one of Norway's wrists at his throat and twists]

[iceandheather]

[Fuck - he has to let go, he can't --]

[He lets go of his neck with the one hand, but presses down even harder with the other. Of all the times he's choked him, this is far different.]

[kingkongeriget]

[switches the hand he's got on Norway's wrist so he's not fighting against the direction of his own body's torque]


[keeps twisting, hard]

[iceandheather]

[Lets go completely and tries to flop in the direction of the twisting - jesus fucking christ that hurts - and kicks at him, trying to distract Denmark enough that he'll let go]

[that's the idea, man]


[tries to get up and gets kicked for his efforts but at least he can breathe now]


[so he tries to put his knee on Norway's elbow instead]


[he's not sure he's strong enough to break his arm with his bare hands, but it's worth a shot]

[Well, fuck you too.]

[It doesn't break but it fucking hurts and he screams and thrashes and tries to push Denmark's head down again but his flailing isn't very effective and he ends up getting seawater in his own mouth and nose and eyes to show for it.]

[looks like this is doing pretty good as far as keeping Norway incapacitated goes, but it's not going to win him the fight]


[pushes down with his knee. think, Denmark, think.]


[ignore the screaming]

[iceandheather]

[Suddenly, just -]

[Stops.]

[Grits his teeth and stops, stops moving, stops screaming even though it hurts and his arm is likely to break if Denmark pushes down even a little bit more, stops and stays there with the water around him and Denmark on top of him. He'd grabbed at him to try to push him under but he couldn't and now he just stops, and breathes, almost gasping.

[kingkongeriget]

[swallows hard]


[somehow the near-silence is worse]


'm so sorry, Nor.


[breaks his arm]

[iceandheather]

[And that breaks the silence, too. He screams again, the pain making him tear up.]

[He was still for a second, but now he isn't. He kicks at Denmark, trying to get him off, trying to move with his free arm to grab at Denmark's hair and yank him off, and all the movement just makes the pain dizzyingly worse.]

[kingkongeriget]

[pulled off ow]


[scrambles away to catch his breath]


[that saltwater still burns]

[iceandheather]

[Gasps as soon as Denmark is off of him. For a moment he stays there, breathing heavily, coughing from the water that he swallowed while they were thrashing around.]

[Where the hell did Denmark get to. Norway stares upward, thinks of lifting his head to look. Doesn't.]

Get over here.

[Grits his teeth as he says it, blinking back tears. It's the salt in the water, that's all.]

[crawls over. cautiously.]
