part 347 dimensions of sight and sound

and of mind. Do do do do do do do do do do do.

How was your end-of-December-into-January time, meme? Did you make any New Year's resolutions? Or light a candle in your window in the hopes that Himaruya would update again instead of leaving us behind like an 19th century light house keeper's wife whose husband has gone off to sea? ... Did you?

Enjoy part 347!

Vidya games!

I wonder how many other gamers are here and what they've played.

I dropped out of playing for a long time, but I've taken it up again recently... uh, basically everything post-N64 is new to me.

Was recently doing a second playthrough of A Link Between Worlds, but then dropped it to focus on Phantom Hourglass. I'll probably pick it up again later though. Right now I just have a 3DS and I'm pretty much exclusively Zelda-focused. (Though I want to try the Ace Attorney games some time, eventually. They sound fun)

Ridiculous? That sounds promising. :)a
How is the playthrough? I mean, are they easy to pick up and put down? I mostly play during my commute to work so being able to play in small bits is important.

I haven't had any trouble! It's more like a visual novel than a game proper, and I've been playing it in small bits too with little trouble (on transit or while waiting on lines, etc), so it's easy to pick up and put down. All the gameplay is point-and-click and puzzle-solving (in a sense). Some of the leaps of logic can be tricky, though.

That sounds perfect for me. Thanks, mate.
I've heard so much about this series, so I'm really hoping to get into it eventually.

I have a PS2 but not many games, many of them I sold since tehy didn't have much replay value. I play the Sims 3 fairly often, though!

I love video games! Sadly, I haven't played as many as I would have liked

Zelda (N64, Gamecube, Twilight Princess)
Fire Emblem (9, 10)
Ace Attorney (Just finished the first)

I meant to replay A Link to the Past just for a bit, but the game got me hooked up again. 8( It's just so fun! Also Mario. Some other obscure games nobody probably heard about.

Gamerjunkie, here. I used to play a lot, but never considered myself a "serious" gamer since I played for plot or fun, rather than competitively. RPGs are my poison of choice, though I play other things from time to time. Uh. List of favourites by gaming platform below? (this is some serious TL;DR)

Console
NES: Excitebike, Paperboy, Duck Hunt, Arkista's Ring (♥!)
3DO: Lucienne's Quest (♥!!)
PS: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Megaman Legends, Final Fantasy Tactics
N64: Paper Mario, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
PS2: Xenosaga trilogy (♥!!), Kingdom Hearts, .hack// (first quartet of games), Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES
Multi-console: Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution

Handheld
GameBoy: Tetris, Battle Arena Toshinden (♥)
DS: The World Ends With You (Subarashiki Kono Sekai)
Multi-system: POKEMON

PC
Oni (♥!), Mass Effect trilogy (♥!!!), Dragon Age series, Left4Dead series, Team Fortress 2

...think that's it. Might be more, but if there are, I can't think of them at the moment.

That Norway, what a guy. I'm so happy about the canon that we have for him now; the earlier, modern-day stuff was nice and all, but it's great to be able to really take a look at him in a historical setting and see what his relationship with Denmark is like there. (Not to mention playing into the whole "us against the world" thing. Or "us against Sweden" at the very least.)

I've mentioned before, but one historical bit that I don't want to see in canon with him is anything to do with 1814. Or 1905 for that matter. 19th-century stuff in general probably wouldn't be too bad, but anything to do with the actual formation/dissolution of the union with Sweden would be kind of messy on the fandom front.

I do want to see some stuff with him and Sweden, though. Aside from the butter sketch. Probably something modern. Oh, and more stuff with England too.

As much as I like Norway, though, I can easily see why people would find him boring. He has moments where he's really weird, especially toward Denmark (and Iceland), but in general he's kind of subdued and has a flat sense of humour. He works best when contrasted with someone with more presence, like when he's being the straight man to Denmark's... Denmark. Other times it's harder to appreciate him, except maybe when someone's really interested/invested in the country itself.
