a fandom friend and i shared this one pairing, which is a relatively rare pairing and her otp. now i find myself drifting toward this other pairing, which is a "rival" pairing as it shares one character with that pairing, and besides that it's also a more popular pairing (and the default pairing for that particular character) and this friend's notp.

it's silly, but i feel like i have to pretend not to like it that much because i feel like i'm betraying the rare pairing (which i still do ship, by the way!) or selling out but truth be told by now i like that popular pairing more. and it's going to show sooner or later, i mean i'm not going to stave off doing fic for it if i feel the inspiration. but. i feel all nervous inside.
