We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

...maaaaaaybe free! but idk. the cute boys and slashbait are certainly a plus, but i can also get cute boys and slashbait from other shows that have more enticing storylines.

There's actually quite a lot I want to check out, but the only ones I am or will definitely watch and follow weekly are the second season of Free!, Glasslip, the Persona 4 remake and Hanamonogatari (still a month to go until this one airs... sigh).

Pretty accurate. I went from euphoric after the first goal to utterly horrified after the third. And it kept getting worse with each subsequent goal. This match was not much unlike watching someone get tortured. At some point, you just wish for a swift death to them out of their misery.

Pretty much my reaction too as I watched it. It was like watching a train wreck but I couldn't look away.

as I was watching the Brazilian stream, I actually laughed with the first goal because the commentator just made this deflated "Goool..." noise... but then it kept getting worse and worse to the point that he didn't even announce the last two German goals, and when Brazil scored he just said, "oh, there's the Brazil goal."

So apparently a small Brazilian publisher called Lote 42 had announced before the match that they would give a 10% discount for every goal Germany scored on Brazil.

Yeah... the fact that being supportive of equal rights is now a selling point is a good thing on the whole, it's both a sign that mainstream ideals are changing AND a stimulus to continue turning the tide even more.
