It's probably less advice than someone making up vague statements that could apply to a large number of people.

...Unless it's a trick by whoever organized this, in which case they're probably messing with us. "It might not work out as you visualized, but a little adventure could do you some good"? I don't see how this does anyone any good.

[As he's picking up the other side of it he considers, his mouth pulling into a slight frown.]

[the hard part is trees are a thing. and snake pits too. unless they circle around and use the road to the beach instead]

[idly wonders if snakes would not get a punishment for attempting aggression inside the tent since they don't have those collars, in which case, maybe having one of them stay awake is a good idea after all. but what about the other way around? if they attempted aggression on the snake, would their collars explode? does shooing it out of the tent count as aggression?]

Don't kill it! That would be bad luck.

[It's a long time since his people revered snakes--grass snakes, but still--but he still has a huge soft spot for them. He could also use the luck if he can get it. The rules aren't so much of a concern for him, because they probably only refer to the contestants.]
