Oh, I was just thinking about doing a series of smutty pinups with Hetalia guys - but in the style of vintage travel posters.

For example, in the 30s there was this national parks ad campaign called SEE AMERICA and it's really very beautiful, bold graphic design and I just want to ruin it by ending the sentence IN HIS NATURAL GLORY with naked America in the great outdoors.

And so on and so forth through a bunch of the nations - definitely England, Spain, France, Italy and Greece at the least.

I feel like somebody HAS to have done this already in the 10+ years Hetalia's been kicking around, I mean come on it's so obvious, but I can't find any. I think there was a set of very pretty, perfectly respectable wine label (??) spoofs with various nations and their national foods but fuck that I want to pimp the nations! IF THESE NATIONS WANT YOUR TOURIST REVENUE THEY GOTTA SHOW YOU WHAT THEY GOT AM I RIGHT

Interestingly, a lot of the vintage australian travel posters are already pretty pin-up-like - it's like 50% seductive beach babe in bathing suit, 30% blue skies and oh yeah 20% smidge of... some sort of landmark, in the distance, totally dwarfed by beach babe.

Same. In the original script, she gives Cal this big telling-off where she basically says he is to pretend he never saw her again and in return she won't ruin his reputation, and he asks what he should tell her mother, she replies "Tell her that her daughter died with the Titanic."

Anyone have any headcanons on how the nation-tans came to be? Not as in how they're born, as in how and why they became a thing in the first place. At what point in human evolution did they show up? What purposes were they originally meant to serve, evolutionarily/spiritually/magically/culturally speaking? What the hell did humans think when the first one showed up?
