please tell me all your france/austria feels. it seems like something I can really get behind

OH NONNY i was napping for like a day but here i am

france and austria, oh boy...let me bullet point

🍑 they're both eloquent, elegant, artistic, educated individuals who use that as a platform to be total assholes, the back and forth snooty savagery is incredible
🍑 they're historically big powerful pompous factions with a lot in common but they like to pretend they have this vast difference between them so they can bicker, and bicker really is the word
🍑 they've tried numerous times to patch it up with marriages and temporary alliances and it usually goes to hell but they're still irrevocably intertwined, love-hate doesn't do it justice
🍑 on that note, france is deeply in lust with austria and seems to get a jolly out of austria's comparative prudishness, to me that goes PERFECTLY with france's taste for both melodramatic romance and utter filth and france's courtship is just one long ridiculously entertaining, self-loathing, austria-loathing dance of extreme thirst
🍑 on THAT note, austria has literally brought the whip down on france in canon and seems to have NO TOLERANCE whatsoever for these antics which suggests a wonderful denial dynamic which, as we all know, leads to incredible sex
🍑 obligatory wild BDSM frolics which in all likelihood get flipped back on austria who is delicious when wrongfooted, embarrassed and aroused. i'm not so much into the heavy stuff with sub!austria or anything, just the idea of france as a very skilled and charismatic, persuasive lover who does get his own way eventually and austria for all his vicious disapproval of france fucking loves it. i DO love austria taking france thoroughly to task with a cane and a (not so) calmly critical demeanour, and france relishing it because france, u r a pervert
🍑 despite everything i've just said, they make a PERFECT romantic couple, like with a side of vitriol, but actually way more outrightly lovey dovey than i would usually suggest. this is mostly down to france being FRANCE, and it plays well with austria's personality- austria is very demanding and will take france for everything he's got while criticising every effort, lol, but france enjoys the challenge...while hating it...
🍑 they do both have a better side and tons in common underneath the surface and can actually enjoy each other for real too, especially with regards to their tastes for the finer things. france is an ass and austria is a snob, and they probably disagree on most things they consume, but at least they're on each other's level. they will use EVERY bit of academia and culture they possess to put each other down and i think that's beautiful
🍑 one of them is blondish and one is dark haired, that's a positive for me
🍑 they are beautiful men who dress beautifully
🍑 they make BEAUTIFUL WOMEN, my thing right now is actually femfrance/femaustria and it makes me want to die for all the reasons above and a particular feminine, classy (for a given definition), ladylike and utterly sensual aesthetic, with that kind of womanly understanding between them on a deep level, while they're petty, catty and absurd on the surface, lmao
🍑 ESPECIALLY love femfrance absolutely praising and revelling in femaustria's attractiveness and appeal and doing everything in her power to un-prude her and open her mind & legs to terrible, dirty things (obviously while femaustria denounces her as a harlot because the cake of hypocrisy is sweetest)
🍑 for the record, i'll take male france/femaustria and femfrance/male austria any day because their personalities are so strong and work so well no matter what. i'm vaguely neutral on a lot of slash/femslash because common tropes don't work for me with the kind of personalities i like? no doubt hetero is the same way for many pairings. france makes anything work. france works with probably any character.
🍑 just want to put a word in for threesomes with the character of your choice because france is that friend who wants to have a threesome with you under any circumstance. france is also the friend who introduces you to new kinks

🍑 there's just this huge...well...of historical STUFF to draw on, you can have them reflect seriously and wryly on the past and have some kind of fucked up but surprisingly true and fond love for each other and drag out the whole affair for centuries...france is a dandy and austria is a gentleman, so there's more rapier wit than actual rapiers between them, they don't necessarily descend into true dislike or violence...it's a complex, subtle relationship
🍑 of course when they DO descend into fisticuffs because of too many disputes and probably alcohol, it's hilariously inept. they have a really FUNNY relationship as well which is pretty important, this is hetalia
