part 367 bears and wolves oh my

YOU DID IT, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU. Well, it's been a year. I hope it was a good one for you--and that 2018 is even better! And maybe we'll finally get that fansub of even one of the musicals... just maybe.

Enjoy part 367!

I was trying to write something different, but screw it.

I straight up hate fandom.

I know. I think I hate it now too.

Just. Fuck. How did it come to this? a 12 year old girl committing suicide? And they were celebrating it?!

And the post only has 1k notes??

The thing that makes me so angry is that nowadays there are a lot of people who are ok with things like this.

There are a lot of people who might feel bad that the kid was twelve, but would've thought it was deserved to dox them if they were twenty.

Or feel bad because the kid's great fandom sin apparently was shipping an age difference between adult characters, but would be ok with doxxing someone for shipping something more extreme, like teacher/student.

There are many, many people in fandom with the earnest belief that it is ok and deserved to punish someone in real life, for the terrible crime of liking something that you find upsetting in fiction.

Not everyone is like this. But too many are. Enough are that the tipping point has long passed. If you're active in fandom today, you've inevitably brushed against at least some people with this mindset. Maybe you even think they are your friends or fans. For now. While you're still obeying the rules.

Fandom has become its own dystopis. Save the fictional people, destroy real life people.

I stopped posting content about a year ago, after I encountered a doxxing story that hit too close to home. There are plenty of such stories out there, though this particular one is the most heinous I've ever read considering the age of the victim and that they committed suicide. At around 12-13 I was shipping and writing way more hardcore ~problematic~ stuff than what she was doing. I cannot imagine how I would have felt or what I might have done if somebody had seen fit to hack me, violate my privacy, harass me, and publicly humiliate me. I hope that one poster was not just bluffing when they mentioned the police. This is, in its own way, child abuse and should be prosecuted. And it's horrifying how the bullies - who were so fucking righteous about a goddamn stupid petty worthless little ship war that they deliberately and viciously targeted this fan they didn't like - these pillars of morality have not a word to say of even being sorry about causing the death of a twelve year old. All they're saying is excuses and reasons it's not really their fault and insinuating they're self harming so we should pity them. Good god! The irony! Someone whose deliberate and malicious actions led to the death of a child - and what, this person shouldn't be harmed? I hope they get sued. I hope there's some kind of deity somewhere aiming a lightning bolt. I hope there's an anvil from the sky.

ok so it's a bit confusing but the 12 year old may have been someone else but they were still doxxed (or cyberbullying) and a kid still died somehow??

either way if a kid was involved this is so awful

"Fandom has become its own dystopis. Save the fictional people, destroy real life people." Woooow. That's it, right there, and it's so horrifying that they don't see this is the actual motto they espouse.
