part 351 lutes and flutes and brutes

Good day, meme! Or... good morrow? I hope part 351 shall be fun for you, or it would be a sorrow! I would think of more to rhyme, but it's late and there is no more sun! All that is left to say is--

Enjoy part 351!

Maybe people pay their fines for lost games more reliably than for books... or perhaps they have a grant system in place to pay for games only??

As a librarian at several points in my life, it's always boggled me how callous people can be about library books and fines... I'm sorry that happened, anon ;o;

Well let's see.

Catherine = sent her away, divorced, died alone and sick
Anne Boleyn = had her arrested, divorced, and executed
Jane = died in childbirth
Anne of Cleves = divorced but remained in his good graces
Kathryn Howard = arrested, divorced, and executed (and she may have been as young as 16 at the time! poor dear...)
Catherine Parr = almost had her arrested, but he died, so she made it past him

Re: itt: lewd thoughts

You know, I very rarely have thoughts where men are submissive/having things done to them because I prefer to put myself in the place of women in porn and I prefer to be on the 'bottom' side of things.

But I came across this post and

http://onedeadpoet.tumblr.com/post/65343811537/please-take-it-out-there-it-is-i-knew-i

could not help but imagine it being done to America or Germany. Slowly. Combined with other teases. And it was a good thought. *_* A very good thought.

Have the people with these headcanons ever actually heard the full song? I'm pretty sure it's about somebody lamenting that their significant other ran away with someone else. It's certainly not a song to sing to your dying lover.

If I was dying in my lover's arms, I'd rather they sing me a lullaby or something.

"The demand for blonde girls and boys was so lucrative that slave traders would hunt for these people as far away as northern Finland, a recent study finds.

Using chronicles, travelogues and various administrative documents such as tax and land registers, as well as diplomatic reports, he found that there was extensive raiding into parts of Finland, the Russian Karelia and the Baltic Countries during the late medieval and early modern periods, with thousands of persons kidnapped in the north. Only a fraction of them ended up in the Caspian Sea region and Central Asia via the Volgan and Crimean slave markets. (http://www.medievalists.net/2014/04/17/medieval-slave-traders-go-finland/)"

I didn't know this.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-25 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Finns were especially valuable on the slave trade market because they were neither Christian or Muslim, and because of their light skin colour. Korpela explains:

The most expensive slave on the Caffa register was a 14–year-old white boy referred to in the source text as “Jarcaxius” (“Circassian”?), who was sold for 750 aspers, and there were other slaves with good colour qualifications that seemed to carry an above-average price. One four-and-a-half-year-old Rus’ian “white” boy cost 185 aspers, although such young children were usually very cheap on account of their high mortality rate. “White” Saracen slaves were also overpriced in the Genoese registers, and blond boys and girls were expensive on the Italian markets, too.

Wow.

Re: AUs you'd be interested in drawing/writing/rping

Currently I'm writing a dragon hunter AU where Italy and Romano are the grandsons of the famous dragon hunter Rome.

Rome actually managed to slay a lot of dragons, though, so there aren't many left for Italy and Romano. Which is just how they like it, because it means they can simply coast off of Rome's fame and not really do much other than flirt with pretty ladies.
