on my little boat on the meme! How was your weekend, meme? Good, I hope! I am LOVING these updates, by the way! I feel like it's Christmas! But in October and November! It's really refreshing to have new material and it kinda feels like a ~rejuvenation~ in the fandom! Well... anywho!
Enjoy part 344!

Night 2
Moments later, the door swung open to reveal the portly captain, who quickly looked around and beyond the new arrival before looking more relaxed. "Good thing you all had the idea to do the tally instead of me, I'm busy driving that Mr. Germany away from the bridge. He keeps trying to get in."
"But Captain, you ordered us to do it..." But he was unheard as the Captain perused the paper that contained the tally.
"Well, looks like they're not taking this as seriously as I hoped. Ah well, it's only the first day and people are always indecisive then. Can't help it if that's the case."
Official Vote Tally
"All right. Now you go and get Mr. Russia so we can start the execution."
"Aye, Captain!"
As it turns out, they didn't have to look for long for him. He apparently had too much to drink at the bar last night, and was found fast asleep on the ship's deck. The sailors trussed him up and began trying to insert his body into the ship's cannon(!). But...
"Captain, he won't fit into the hole!"
"Then thrust harder!"
However, no matter how hard the sailors pushed, they couldn't fit Russia's large frame into the cannon. Dejected that they couldn't use the cannon for the first execution which was always a ~special~ occasion, they just decided to toss some grilled steak into the sea to gather a number of sharks which began circling around an area. They then dangled Russia's still-sleeping body on top of the sharks while the captain coughed before speaking grandly.
"Mr. Russia, the participants have voted and decided that you are the most suspicious of being one of the killers and thus clamor for your execution. You are hereby sentenced to be executed via shark tooth. Any last words?"
"..."
"Ah, you were headed to dropping out anyway. Now... FIRE!" the captain cried out of habit.
And Russia was dropped to the sharks' eager jaws, which began snapping his body till he was a skeleton.
Re: Night 2
Ahem! This is your captain speaking! We have fulfilled our participants' decision. After examining the role card in his room, it looks like Mr. Russia is NOT A KILLER. Which means they're all still at large out there. Oops.
If you're all feeling stressed out about this, fret not! Our ship has a special swimming pool inside, to help you relax. There's also a Jacuzzi, a sauna, and a hot spring! And that pool room where I keep my pet octopuses, but you're not allowed there for want of tentacle molestation without my permission.
I bid you all good evening!
[This begins Night 2.

[And she voted for her. Uh.]
[But she did want to go to the hot spring so it looks like she has to deal with it. She sighs and gets in, not near enough to Russia to be next to her and not far enough away to seem like she's avoiding her. It's an exact science.]

[Once he's in, he spies Lithuania arriving. Maybe not the one he was hoping to run into, but she might have some ideas, and he won't be paranoid about her trying to drown him.]
Oi, Lithuania!

[She's just settled into the water as he calls to her and she turns to look at him. So far she doesn't know him well enough to recognize his voice.]
Oh, Australia.
[Somehow he seems not to fit the ship's image, and that makes her smile in spite of herself.]

Re: Night 2
[She was too sleepy to vote or have anything explained to her and this is all very alarming. NO ONE TELL HER HOW RUSSIA DIED, SHE'LL SCREAM]
I knew I ought to have stayed home. ...Octopuses?!
[She's going to hastily shut herself in the sauna and worry.]

Swimming sounds like fun, though, so he'll just be stripping down to his underwear and jumping into the pool. Splashing everyone in the proximity in the process.]

And honestly, he's feeling pretty terrible.
America's dead, and he was too hungover to even hear about it until now.]

Re: Night 2
[Normally he'd start teasing England but it's obvious why he's looking like a slapped arse, and he's not feeling that great about America being dead. Especially now his hangover's eased.]
Long time no see, eh?
[Crouches down to pull England into a brief sideways hug before moving to sit down next to him at the poolside.]

I'd say so. Where have you been? Keeping out of trouble, I hope?
[If only New Zealand were here for him to place all responsibility of Australia on.
He's actually a lot happier to see Australia than he might sound. It's been months, after all.]

Re: Night 2
England-san.
[ he's feeling pretty terrible, too. Russia was innocent, as hard as it may be to believe, and yet... ]
Whoever it was... they were strong enough to take out not only America-san, but --
[ he sighs. ] Perhaps Greece-san, as well. [ he hadn't seen the other in a while, not since... the Battle Royale, but to think he was possibly taken out so easily and unexpectedly... ]
And yet, it was not Russia-san...
[ he trails off and stares at the water. What should he do now, he wonders... ]
...Will you be all right? [ he doesn't look all right, but he supposes he should ask that anyway. Does England-san need anything... ]
Re: Night 2
[England nods, sighing.]
Sorry about.. Greece. [He knows Japan is friends with both of those killed, after all, though England is much more beat up about America's death.] And America too...
I'll- I'll be fine. Better once I'm off this ship, of course. [And when everyone is back, and things are (relatively) normal.] I suppose the sooner we find who did this, the better.

Re: Night 2
[He'll have to apologise to Russia when, well... if he comes back. He's a nation, so he can't stay dead, right?]
[Not that he doesn't feel a little safer not having Russia on board anyway, but that's not the point.]
[Excuse him while he locks himself in the sauna and thinks about what he's done.]
Re: Night 2
H-hello?
[It's pretty steamy in here and she doesn't know you, hmm]
Re: Night 2
I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you! I didn't know there was anyone in here! Um...
[He probably shouldn't stay, should he?]
I can wait until you're finished, if you'd like!
[Doesn't give her a chance to answer and just fumbles with the door's lock, flustered.]

[Sits near the pool and starts writing:
This is a journal in case I die. To anyone who finds it, please FIND THE KILLER AND PUT HIM IN A CANON SO HE CAN HAVE THE DEAD THEY DESERVE. Thank you.
DAY ONE:
America. Dead by a snapped neck. Found red scarf on his room. The killer could have been someone he knew since they didn't force the entry. Could it be that someone tried to incriminate Russia by leaving a scarf at the crime scene?
Greece. Dead by
stupiditynegligence. Someone might have pushed the chest down on his head. Could it have been an accident to deceive us? Is there something else they aren't telling us?Theories so far:
- NONE.]

Coroner's Report 1
Cause of death: Strangulation
Murder Details: He was strangled with some sort of scarf or kerchief. Victim has bruises throughout his body. No external wounds.
Coroner's Musings: We found a red scarf next to the body, which leads us to believe that was the murder weapon. Closer analysis of skin traces confirm this. However, the numerous bruises throughout the body of the victim is not consistent with simple struggling for breath while strangled: they are too many and are on several parts of his body: One on his left cheek, three on his body and two on the thighs. While it is normal for the victim to struggle and get injuries in the bid for air, there are too many and the placements are too suspicious. It's almost like the victim walked out of a boxing tournament. And even though the official cause of death was strangulation, the victim's neck was found snapped.
The victim was discovered lying on his bed. The room was very messy upon discovery, with clothes and sheets strewn about, and several objects knocked over. There are no signs of the door having been tampered with. The windows were shut tight.
Victim's Name: Hellenic Republic
Cause of death: Blunt force head trauma
Murder Details: The victim was bludgeoned to death by a metal equipment chest. No other wounds.
Coroner's Musings: The victim was found on deck, lying on a lounge chair, with his head leaking blood and the chest on the ground beside him. Said chest is supposed to be on the upper deck, so the main issue is how it fell on the victim's head. At first we thought it was cut loose from its securing, but the ropes are intact: No cuts or frays on the rope at all. An accidental fall from the ship's swaying is a possibility as we have received a report that the equipment was supposed to be tied with ropes, but a sailor has confessed about forgetting to do so after the last inspection of the chest so the ropes are left wrapped around the railing loosely. However, we cannot yet rule out the other possibility: that the chest was still pushed down on purpose even if it was not secured with ropes.
No fingerprints were found, but there are scruff marks on the chest consistent with a hard-soled shoe making contact with it. We have yet to determine if it's a sailor's doing.
